The extra few days between games will help us.
Id take the draw now but wouldn't be surprised if we got at them. The shackles are off after the two wins following the cup exit.

That would be great to see. Few worries re. points or goal diff (or ambition). Attack!Adam 'The Smudge' wrote:The extra few days between games will help us.

I reckon we'll do well but get done by some dodgy reffing / offside decisions. Again. Who is the joker in charge for this one do we know yet?
Re: West Ham Utd vs Man City: match thread
Kevin Friend is the ref for this oneRowly wrote:I reckon we'll do well but get done by some dodgy reffing / offside decisions. Again. Who is the joker in charge for this one do we know yet?
Not reffed us this season, his record in city games is 1 win and 1 draw. His last game reffing us was the win at Anfield last August sending off Coutinho and Noble
Re: West Ham Utd vs Man City: match thread
I don't see any reason why we can't get a draw here. Would certainly be an improvement on 0-5 in the cup.
1-1
1-1

Here's a classic West Ham vs Man City game from 1996.
Ludo in goal, Super Slav and Dicks in defence and the beauty and the beast pairing of Dani and Dowie...

Was doing some research today into matches City have struggled in recently to see if there is any correlation. Have to say in 3 matches they were really poor in Liverpool away, Leicester away and Hull away the three opposing sides all played different formation. Liverpool played 4-3-3, Leicester 4-4-2 and Hull 3-5-1-1 with Snodgrass in the hole.
The most impressive of those performances was Liverpool's as it was against full Man City team where they completely took away their threats. In aide of this I wouldn't mind seeing something like this on Wednesdays
.......................Randolph.................
Byram.........Reid......Fonte.......Cresswell...
.....Noble...........Obiang........Lanzini.....
....Feghouli........Carroll........Antonio...

Did they not struggle in the 4-0 defeat to Everton?coyi27 wrote:Was doing some research today into matches City have struggled in recently to see if there is any correlation. So, training injuries aside, is it a straight choice between Fegouli and Snodgrass for the last midfield slot on Wednesday? If so who gets the nod? Personally I'd keep Feg after the last two matches.

Fegouli has done enough to keep his place for me.arlhe wrote:So, training injuries aside, is it a straight choice between Fegouli and Snodgrass for the last midfield slot on Wednesday? If so who gets the nod? Personally I'd keep Feg after the last two matches.

Feghouli of course keeps his place.
But introducing the new chap with 20 minutes left will be great. Much better option than say Fernandes, as much as I like him.

Ok they're out but that don't mean Wile E's on the next plane back. Seen vthe state of his bounce for one thing, looks like a few stitches?.... More power to him if he does turn up

Re: West Ham Utd vs Man City: match thread
Can't see Cheikh being in the right mental state let alone physical. They had become massive favourites and as captain he'd given loads of interviews saying he wanted their 'golden generation' to win it for the Senegalese people and it was a waste of their ability if they didn't even make the final. Strikes me as the kind of guy who'll take not delivering for his country pretty badly - especially as captain. Senegal going out so early could turn out to be the very worst result for us.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Man City: match thread
The Hull manager said Snodgrass hadn't trained for the last two weeks before signing for us, so got to to Feghouli for fitness as well as form reasons.
Snodgrass off the bench in the second half.
