Fonte to score from a corner with no celebration as we will already be 3 nil down.

Snodgrass in for feghouli. Apart from that, I'd like to see players busting a gut for the manager they supposedly love, and I'd like us to look like we actually have tactics.
Re: Southampton vs West Ham Utd: match thread
No RB, a very average LB, the slowest, most lackadaisical CM in chrisendom,no LW,five RWs a dazed and confused manager,a pair of owners that are doing their best to revive the Great British comedy double act - What could, possibly go wrong?
2-3 Snodders, Carroll, Kouyate!!

Saints away should guarantee a downpour (allday), a Carroll goal, probably a sending off, I fancy a 5 goal thriller. 3-2 us. COYI

3300 of us going down there after a miserable Wednesday night. We can compete against Southampton and we have the added spice of payback for their demolition of us in the home game.Come on West Ham send that Claret and blue corner into a frenzy!

Re: Southampton vs West Ham Utd: match thread
This is the team I would play, we have feck all choices with the dross Sully has given us these 2 windows.
Randolph pulls off the occasional worldy but for me Adrian is a better keeper.
Byram is not a full back just a championship level winger. Arbeloa past it, so Nordveidt is in.
Cresswell cannot defend, never could, great going forward but first job is to defend he plays as we have nobody else right now.
Obiang was poor last night but he was on his own in midfield, Noble ( lovely bloke West Ham through and through ) but was chasing shadows all night and that's why Obiang made the mistakes, give him a partner who can play at this level and he will do.
I think we can get a result with this team, tin hat at the ready, oh and I would call Joey O'Brien who is only 30 years old and free to tell him he is back up for BOTH fullbacks and will be playing most weeks by the looks of it.

We got absolutely smashed at our place by this lot would love us to do the same. But I think a comfortable 3-0 victory for the Saints with Redmond running riot on us. Hope I'm wrong.

I think we might need Carrol to help out in defence.

Re: Southampton vs West Ham Utd: match thread
Fonte to have a shocker much like Dejan Lovren does whenever he returns to St Marys.
Besides that, we should go hell for leather against this lot. The Citeh game aside, our form has been ok. We've got 9 points in the last 6 comparable to Southamptons 3 in 6, making them 19th in the form table.
I know this season has been odd in regards to form and what it means, but we should do the job here.
2-1 West Ham with a Carroll winner in the last 10.

Re: Southampton vs West Ham Utd: match thread
I still like the idea of Kouyate as a wing back or - at a push - a short-term right back. Defensively capable, good legs up and down the touchline, bit o' height.
Sue me.

Re: Southampton vs West Ham Utd: match thread
If they had Van Dijk we'd lose, without him and there captain in defence I think we'll win this 2-1. Snodgrass and Kouyate with the goals.
Re: Southampton vs West Ham Utd: match thread
I would absolutely take a point right now if offered.....but would much prefer 3
Big game from Snod, Carrol and Antonio and just tell Byram to tuck in and stop getting caught on the wrong side of his man.

Re: Southampton vs West Ham Utd: match thread
I dont get all the negativity tbh. Southampton are the second worst team in the league over the last 6 games for f*** sake.
it will be an even game but we will win i think. Southampton are going backwards, we've had 1 poor result in the last few games. Southampton aren't anywhere near what they were when they beat us at home.
