Nothing more than anyone else - but he doesn't fit the above system that I chose. Same reason I didn't pick Snodgrass or Feghouli.
I think Ayew is better suited to that central role.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Leicester City: match thread
Dropping Antonio would be suicide, we severely lack pace without him, he's also our top scorer and arguably our best available finisher.
Assist against Watford, goal against Bournemouth. Undroppable in my eyes.
Antonio, Lanzini, Ayew, Reid, Obiang, and 6 others.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Leicester City: match thread
people underestimate how having a pacey front man makes you more solid defensively.
if the back four can't push up, the midfield can't press us nearly as high. if we aren't pressed high, less chance of losing it in a dangerous area.
a big number 9 gives you defensive advantage at set pieces, but not in open play.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Leicester City: match thread
We will lose this as we give away stupid penalties every game. We have a bottle job as a left back, we play a midfielder as a RB and we play Lanzini on the wing. I'm seriously starting to question some of Slavs decision as well as a lack of passion and commitment from more than half the team. Also drop Randolph his a total nightmare in goal time to bring Adrian back.
Re: West Ham Utd vs Leicester City: match thread
Looking at the remaining ten games you could easily think that if current form is maintained then we could end up winning just one (Swansea at home). A couple of draws would give us just 38 points. I think we will get one of those draws against Leicester.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Leicester City: match thread
Right. We need to pick up points in games like this, but I am worried as Leicester haven't won away from home all season, and we are the most charitable team in all of football when it comes to playing teams like that (Bournemouth no wins in 2017).
Byram needs to start the rest of the season to see what he's capable of, otherwise sell him.
---------------Randolph---------------
Byram--Fonte--Reid--Cresswell
---------Kouyate--Obiang------------
----Antonio--Lanzini--Ayew-------
-----------------Carroll-----------------
Carroll needs support if we are going to start him. Ayew and Antonio provide that, with Lanzini pulling the strings. I put Kouyate in Midfield next to Obiang as he provides more pace/drives forward than Noble, and is a bigger threat from set pieces. Bilic will probably stick with Noble in there, however. That team should be able to beat Leicester, but you know how West Ham likes to help teams in need.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
As many different line ups and combinations as could possibly be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For me .....
If I was in charge, that is, I would go with.........
A back three. Collins, Fonte and Reid. Protecting Randolph between the sticks.
A defensive midfield three. Byram wide right, Nordveit center and Masuaku wide left.
THEY SHALL NOT PASS.
Offensive Midfield Three.
Antonio, Lanzini and Snodgrass.
Up Front. Carroll.
Subs. Adrian, Cresswell, Kouyate, Obiang, Noble, Ayew, Fernadez, Fletcher.
Of course, I could come up with a dozen other possibilities. Ayew on the left, Fletcher up front, Cresswell on the left etc etc.
Actually, I think I will leave it up to Slav. Afterall that is what he gets paid for.
West Ham 15, Crappy Old Leicester NIL. Get your house on it.

Leave Carroll on the bench for this one.
Somehow create a framework that allows Antonio, Ayew and Lanzini to just run at their central defence and make sure the rest is drilled to stop the counter.

Proper nervous about this one,
We need to score and score early, seems as though recently we start well and if we dont score we capitulate.
Snodgrass 2-1

Re: West Ham Utd vs Leicester City: match thread
I really don't buy the Kouyate Obiang partnership will be better, I think Noble and Obiang can bring more.
My team:
----------Randolph-----------
Byram--Fonte--Reid--Masuaku
Antonio--Obiang--Lanzini--Noble--Snodgrass
-------------Sakho (hopefully)-------
As others have said, Leicester are well equipped to deal with Carroll. Feghouli can bang in a decent cross, but that's not what we need

Re: West Ham Utd vs Leicester City: match thread
I don't think we should tamper with the team too much, taking 1/2 players out can make a world of difference, 5/6 seems extreme to me
Ayew needs to start, and Byram at RB. I have never really rated him, but he is a RB, so he plays - simple, this management stuff...
No need to swap GKs, not much difference in either.
Carroll needs to play, still our most dangerous man up top. I don't believe all this physical defenders in Huth and Morgan will nullify him, he can score against any defence if the service is good enough.
Antonio needs to run at defences, not play with his back to them. Hopefully he and Ayew can stretch an average defence to create space for Lanzini and Carroll to operate in.
Randolph
Byram Fonte Reid Cresswell
Obiang Lanzini Noble
Antonio Caroll Ayew
