Nailed it. Maybe I'd drop Cresswell for Masuaku but otherwise spot on.

Honestly can't believe there's folks who would drop Antonio or Kouyate (who's been hung out to dry @RB)!

Ok, it's a bit radical, but I'm going for the following:

---------------Randolph---------------
Byram---Fonte---Reid---Masuaku
---------Kouyate--Obiang------------
Antonio--Lanzini--Ayew--Snodgrass
----------------------------------------------

Cresswell gets dropped to the bench for reasons I gave on the first page. I have a very marginal preference for Adrian over Randolph but not much in it and don't see it changing anyway.

In bigger news, we go 4-6-0 so that Huth and Morgan are taken out of the game rather than battering Carroll for 90 mins without getting out of their comfort zone. Any of Antonio, Lanzini, Ayew and Snodgrass are given free rein to make runs from deep as we aim to put together unpredictable attacks at pace. Our FBs and Kouyate also have freedom to make the extra man on the break so long as Obiang + one of those not involved retain their discipline.

Boom. 5-0 West Ham :scarfer:

Leicester 2 up and cruising against seville. Sods law that they will be arriving at the bowl bang in form. A point would be a good result now.

Vardy's reaction to that touching of foreheads. Shameful.

He is a cheat, as well as that he throws himself at defenders to win free kicks and penalties he should have been sent off as well for "simulation " earlier on .He would also have been on a yellow in the Nasri incident.

Fair play to them getting in the hat with the names left in the competition

I reckon we'll beat them on Saturday. Barca lost at the weekend

I'd pick a team based around these factors:

1. Lanzini must play centrally

2. Pace up front vs Huth/Morgan

3. Three at the back as insurance against their counterattacks

4. Bring on Carroll and Snodgrass if we need to go more direct

Randolph
Kouyate, Fonte, Reid
Byram, Obiang, Fernandes, Cresswell
Lanzini
Ayew, Antonio

---------------Adrian---------------

Byram--Fonte--Reid--Cresswell

----Kouyate--Obiang--Lanzini----------

Ayew-----------------------------Antonio
-----------------Carroll (C)---------------

Give Noble a well deserved break from it all and let's see how that side gets on.

As we well know for a while now in the modern game, cheats definitely prosper. Not that I'd encourage our players of resorting to such desperation. Definitely not the West Ham way.

we will have the possession with leicester looking to catch us on the counter.

no point playing carroll against huth and morgan who will be comfortable to deal with him.

a mobile striker may cause them a few more problems

Randolph
byram reid fonte masuaka
antonio obiang kouyate snodgrass
lanzini
ayew

2-0 hammers ayew lanzini

reg to get sent off !

If Noble's out then replace him with Fernandes as the deep lying ball player with a licence to get forward

The above formation could easily alter to a 4-3-3 with Lanzini and Ayew working the Channels. Also gives Lanzini a bit more protection behind, meaning he doesn't need to keep dropping so deep. Both Ayew and Lanzini can stay further up the pitch close to carroll for the long balls, and take advantage of his flick ons that would normally go to nobody.
Where's Antonio ?

EDIT - Sorry, read further through the thread and saw your answer to the same question I posed.

Nevertheless I think a fit Antonio is one of the first four names on the team sheet, along with Reid, Lanzini and Obiang.

Don't think we'll get anything from this game, I'm afraid. Difficult to see where we're going to get the 7 points from, that we need for safety.
Sorry to be so pessimistic; we seem unable to summon up the desire shown by the likes of Palace, Bournemouth and lately Leicester. That's before we face cheats like Vardy and referees with Nelson's eye to the telescope for decisions in our favour.
Maybe we'll hit a late run of form; we certainly will need it. :(

Match the desire shown by Palace and Bournemouth?

Bournemouth won their first game in 2017 last week and Palace have mustered up a win in recent weeks against a Boro side in freefall. They were battered at home to Sundeland a few weeks back, i dont think desire is a word associated with Palace or Bournemouth this season...even Leicester who happened to win the Premier League last season.

Things haven't been great this season, its been pretty poor but not that bad.

Leicester in the league are a different kettle of fish to Champions League Leicester. Hopefully they've got a "European hangover" and are knackered.

Would expect Slimani to start for them as he didn't start last night. Musa too perhaps.

Trying to be upbeat on this, but all the logical-sounding line-ups I see here will no doubt not happen. Just more round pegs in square holes, as players are played out of position. Love Slav to bits, but this is going to prove his downfall I fear.

I'm expecting another gutless performance after a week of 'we've learned our lesson' hype on the OS.

Are we ever likely to see Adrian back in goal? I still think he is better than Randy

I'm pretty sure that his red card in a U23 match doesn't translate into a suspension for the first team?
