Re: Arsenal vs West Ham United Match Thread
-------------------Adrian
Byram---Collins---Fonte---Cresswell
----------------Nordtveit
----------Kouyate---Noble
------------------Lanzini
------------------Carroll
-------------------Ayew
Variation of the diamond formation, Nordt to sit infront of the centrebacks and drop in to a back three to allow Byram/Cresswell to push forward to deliver crosses to Carroll, Lanzini to pick up the knock downs and chase down the Arsenal midfield. Ayew playing further up against the Arsenal back line and across the whole pitch to feed off Carroll's knock ons and make the runs from any long balls from Byram/Nordt/Noble/Cress.

We had an excellent GK,an excellent defence, an excellent midfield and our best striker was playing.bubbles1966 wrote:Point of Reference from last year's 2-0 victory

This will be at least 4. We should seriously consider playing a weakened team and keeping players fresh for the must win game against Swansea. Certainly wouldn't be playing Antonio or Sakho if they are fit, probably wouldn't play Carroll either.

I'd go out there and try to score 5. Straight at them from the off.

The ideal setting for Arsenal to regain some confidence. With our defence they will score at least five. Maybe we'll score a couple ourselves.

Wasn't that what Sam was pilloried for? (and Sakho's officially out of action?)EastleighHammer16 wrote:This will be at least 4. Two hopes and one is called Bob...the other is that they eat Lasagne before the game.
Can't see anything other than a defeat in this one as much as it sticks in the throat.

I fear a rout. I've written this game off, the one that scares me is Swansea at home, lose that and I think we're down, even if we win at Sunderland, which I don't think we will.

Do we ever lose to Swansea? And Sunderland are rubbish.Jumby wrote:I fear a rout. I've written this game off, the one that scares me is Swansea at home, lose that and I think we're down, even if we win at Sunderland, which I don't think we will.
The truth is that our boys need to pull it together for just a couple of games in the last 8.
Perhaps, they need a bit of fear in them to stir the sinews and gird the loins?
Been on easy street since Dubai. Suddenly, it matters again.

Re: Arsenal vs West Ham United Match Thread
Well they smashed us at UP last season, and Collins gifted them one in a defeat at there gaff a couple of years back, so I think the answer to that is a big fat yesbubbles1966 wrote:

Re: Arsenal vs West Ham United Match Thread
They tore us apart at our place last season when we were in great form, at the Athletics Stadium, with their style of play, you'd have to fancy them against our confidence shot lot. As for Sunderland, how often do we win up there in the league? Even when they're sh!te we don't beat them at their place. The next three games could very well determine our fate, anything less than 2 points and we're down.bubbles1966 wrote: Do we ever lose to Swansea? And Sunderland are rubbish.

Im ****ing ****ting my pants just thinking about our next 4 games. Get smashed here and go into the Swansea game on the back of a drumming and things will heat up for sure.
Let's hope Swansea get a massive tonking from Spurs mid week also, could help us out.
