Noble was the best of a poor 3 in midfield first half.

Against the good sides I suspect Fernandes will get too easily overrun as part of a central 3 same as last season against Liverpool but is part of a learning process for him. Obiang has been as poor as I have seen him, his first touch has been so bad that he has continually put himself under pressure, also getting overrun.

Man Utd one of favourites for title though, not all sides will be as good as they have been.

Of course we will set out to defend, with the players we have, even were they all available, to attack them is more likely to lead to getting nothing from the game. The difference with Sam is he was as likely to use the same tactic against a poor side at home as a good side away and it was that which got most fans goat after our first season back when, apparently, we were established as a premiership side.

He was part of a very necessary building process, by the time he left it was right to move on if nothing else because of the negativity towards him.

Because we had possession and we're playing right so he was stretching the play and getting forward like he was meant to, his not a mind reader that Obiang will do that, also the problem he did do that though was where was the out lets, the passing, the movement, what options did Obiang have not like he had a couple of players near him

I dont know what some people are griping about either. Thought that was quite decent from us. We don't look like a team that come to roll over and we will get a scoring chance this second half. My money is on Arnie

Which tells me that Jose singled him out as a threat. People suggesting he isn't any use cos he isn't bossing against one of the most expensively assembled teams in the world !

Because if Obiang had done the basic job of a Premiership footballer Zabaleta would have been clear in space down the right hand side.

Need Noble to keep up the yap at Atkinson given the clear policy of fouling the player every time we break forward.

All told, not a bad first half - one mistake by Obiang and we were punished for it.

Noble has had a blinding first half as has Ogbonna - Fernandes seems intimidated - the shot aside, out of his depth & poor distribution in possession.

Some great runs from Arnie but we aren't finding him.

Only gripes for me, the back four are giving the ball straight back to them instead of dropping it into teh channels for Arnie and Ayew to chase, and Ayew - he seems ineffective out on the right - Blind has owned him - Antonio walks back into the team on this showing.

They will come at as hard second half looking for the second. . . . be great to ping them back on the hour mark.

Obiang had Matic closing him down. It was a poor effort but at OT when it's 0-0 full backs should stay at home.

He was signed to defend.

He's used to playing with midfielders who would've got the ball out to him. In other words better players than Obiang.

We're missing this player or that player, this player is playing bad that player shouldn't be playing. Give it a rest it's Man United away. Man for man they are better, they are at home and they have arguably the best manager in World football.

Some of the comments on here you would think we are equals, we need to sit deep and hope for a breakaway opportunity. I doubt we have the pace or quality but who knows.

Its safe to say Arnautovic is no Payet on them free kicks. Cant even beat the 1st man.

How is Masuaku left to deal with both Lukaku and Rashford at a set-piece? Everyone else too slow to react.
