I think we'll win it 3-1, Sakho with 2, Ayew with 1. We may have to go a goal down though before the players wake up, and may even go into half time trailing.

[quote="Hammer1972"]Our first two games have suggested to me that the league is probably out of reach this year so we should probably concentrate on the cups.
League out of reach this year...when has it ever been in reach?

This is what hooliganism looks like in the modern game.Alfiehammer wrote:Working a late on Wednesday so whacked in a fake appointment 8-9 so I can hide away in the consultation room and watch the game on my iPad.
Needless to say, should the boss walk in it would be unfortunate....so I expect a full strength team in a cup we can win to make this risk worth it...

Re: West Ham United Vs Cheltenham Town FC -Carabao cup OMT
We are 2 games into the new season, not in the middle of January with the FA Cup and Christmas period taking its toll - there is no excuse for not playing a full strength side here! I would rather we played a full strength side, beat Cheltenham and lost 5-0 to Newcastle on the weekend than lose this game and maybe scrape a win or draw up at Newcastle.Nesticles wrote:
Whilst I agree, a manager unsure on his future or if he is getting a new contract might see the league as his bread and butter.
If he plays the kids and we get beat, the board will hang him out for slaughter.

Before you go, sort your quoting out!
If you want to quote me (for example), you need to leave in the bit before the quote ie

Haksabanovic not even in the squad for the U23 game with Spurs that's just finished.
Holland, and Martinez on the other hand played full games, Samuelson went off after a knock.
Expect Haks to be on the squad, the other 3 would be a major surprise.

Crack out the C&B specs, if you honestly think we have any chance of ever winning a trophy.Crouchend_Hammer wrote:
We have two chances of winning a trophy this season. we have started the season with two defeats. Why on earth would any manager pick that team?
I would actually make Cheltenham favourites if we lined up like that
Even if we had a run of straightforward fixtures, we will be knocked out by the first top 8 Prem side we come across.
As per.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Cheltenham Town: match thread
I'd be surprised if Adrian, Byram, Collins, Sakho, etc. didn't get a run out in this one. We need to make it a strong side though. Any loss here just piles more pressure onto everyone.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Cheltenham Town: match thread
Definitely. I have two good mates who support Leeds here in Tokyo and they always ask me what we've done to Byram. I say we've pissed him about a bit, but he has also had unluckily timed injuries after good games and generally not looked a great defender but at times a half decent footballer. Hope to see him played more at right wingback and maybe as you say right wing where he looked mustard for Leeds. Admittedly at a lower level. I still think there is something there with this lad for sure. Maybe just hope?fmgod wrote:I want to see Bryam at right wing, it's were he played for Leeds his last year to, see how he does, probably still get booked but can't win them all
