People thinking we'll get a clean sheet must not of watched our first two games. They will score I think we might also. They need a win as much as we need one 1-1 or 2-1 to them.

agree we need to keep it tight. If they score first their confidence will rise and they will be at us.
nice and steady and then pick them off as they over commit. need to do a professional no frills job on this lot.

hart
zabaleta ogbonna collins cresswell
noble rice kouyate
antonio hernandez ayew

antonio and ayew to track back when needed. solid in the middle hopefully

kouyate to join attacks when he can.

Need Lanzini to start this one. Any combination of Noble, Kouyate, Rice and Obiang is so devoid of any idea of how to move the ball.

Hart.

Zabs
Collins
Ogbonna
Cresswell

Obiang
Kouyate

Antonio
Lanzini
Ayew

Hernandez

If any of those aren't ready yet then replace them with someone else who can play that role, even if that means playing a youngster. Bring Rice on for the last half hour if kouyate isn't quite match fit. Or noble.

In the absence of Snodgrass and if lanzini isn't ready, then either masuaku on the wing and ayew in the middle, or keep ayew where he is and play the Montenegro kid in the middle. If we're not willing to play the kid then we need more signings as we can't go through the whole season with just ayew as cover for all 3 positions.

burnley h I like that team but slav will start noble in place of obiang

3 points are massive for us and wil give a feel good factor as we head into the international break and last few days of window.
I expect carvalho to have signed before this game but would also like us to bring in smalling or sakho as a new faster CB.

If we just bring those two in it will be a great window.

I cant see them getting another striker unless sakho goes. forget carroll no one will buy that carthorse and we wont see much of him on the pitch this season. Leaves hernandez, young martinez, sakho antonio as our goal threats. can address in january if we need to.

lets sure up the defence as we will always score goals but let too many in under bilic.

3 games, Scratchy. He missed last night, he'll miss this one and he'll miss the Huddersfield match.

I'd love for it but I cannot see Lanzini starting this one??

Chicharito and Antonio to score in a 1-2 win! :crest:

I'd be surprised to see any of Lanzini, Kouyate or Carroll start. Might see two on the bench.

Everyone wanting to see 2 centre backs and 2 central midfielders.

If we go with that we'll concede 2+ and drop more points.

I agree DDA.

Hart

Three of Kouyate/Collins/Reid/Ogbonna. Kouyate over Collins for me depending on fitness.

Antonio - Noble - Rice - Lanzini (hopefully) - Cresswell.

Chicharito and Sakho.

If Lanzini isn't back I'd play Antonio more central behind the strikers and play Zaba or Byram on the right. Byram for me probably.

If we give this to Newcastle I'll not be shocked but I really do think Antonio and Chicharito can bury them if we can just defend for one match.

Think this might be one too early for Kouyate and Lanzini, would expect to see them come on at some point but not start. Kouyate barely had a pre-season.

Happen to have watched both of Newcastle's games so far this season and they look really toothless. No goals in two games, and barely a shot, either. Atsu looks lively, and Ritchie is a bit of a threat, but otherwise they looked worse than we did for the first game and a half.

We can't play zab and ginge in a 4 .They will kill our right side with pace especially with atsu .The obvious answeer is kouyate in a 3 .Any other solution leaves our right side massively exposed.

They're comfortably the weakest team in the division as things stand with a week to go in the transfer window, so anything less than a victory should be considered a warning sign.
