If it is and I have a horrible suspicion it might be, then this will not only be the end for Bilic, but almost certainly the end of our time with the elite for a while. No team with zero points from four matches and a minus 11 goal difference over that period has ever avoided relegation from the Premier League

hope to christ this is a case of "not 100% and don't want to risk flying him out to get battered to pieces by uruguay" and not a new injury.

There're always some players injured. What are they doing in pre-saison ? Fitness certainly not. Play marbles?

We were told its a snot serious and that he would be back for Huddesfield. Mind you Carrol was supposed to be back for Newcastle but did not even manage the bench.

They haven't conceded a league goal yet and they've scored twice as many as us and haven't lost a game, winning two and drawing one, we've lost all of ours. With all that in mind I'm going for 2-0 West Ham

hart
zabaleta collins reid
byram kouyate lanzini obiang cresswell
antonio hernandez

subs adrian ogbonna masuaka noble rice ayew sakho

time for a change and 3 at the back.

if we lose then slav must go. we need a new man in asap or for slav to snap out of his slumber. he sounds a beaten man all the time. no fight no bounce - like his team.

palace might beat us to the sacking race though.

Hart/Adrian
Zab Ogbonna Fonte Cresswell
Bryam Obiang Kouyate Antonio
Lanzini
Hernadez

Bryam can protect Zab, same with Antonio, Obiang and Kouytate protecting the back four, let's stop leaking goals first and then think about winning football matches.

hart
zabaleta collins reid
byram kouyate lanzini obiang cresswell
antonio hernandez

antonio up top will create and score
he is a handful when fully fit which after the break he should be.

no place for noble other than on the bench as we need to match their pressing and speed. Nobes cant do this anymore.

we cant play noble against these. They are fast and press hard. he will get caught out and booked/sent off for his desperate lunge !

kouyate and obiang in the middle of the 5 who are all pretty quick players

byram kouyate lanzini obiang cresswell

we need to compete physically and with some pace. Noble can no longer do this.

we are still slow at the back with zabaleta collins and reid but having a fast paced midfield should help us.
antonio and hernandez up front will offer pace skill and a goal threat.
3-5-2 is the way we have to play.

You have to compete to stand a chance

fenandez noble rice against newcastle was pathetic and over run by a poor team

I probably shouldn’t be admitting this as I would never wish for us to lose a game of football, but part of me (and I don’t know which part that is) would not mind us losing against Huddersfield if it meant that the manager’s reign came to an end. Before anyone kills me, I would never actively support the idea of West Ham losing a game and it’s not that I don’t like Slav (in fact I really like him as a person and will always remember his first season with us fondly) but he looks completely shattered already and void of ideas - a clean break this early in the season could be good for everyone involved. Ultimately, he will not be our manager next season so a few decent results in the next 4 games would only prolong the inevitable and continue the uncertainty throughout the season.

Basing my prediction on our injuries and how we looked in pre-season, I was expecting 1 point from our opening 3 games, so we’re only 1 point worse off from where I thought we’d be. It’s not the losses that have hurt, but it’s the manner of the losses, and something that has not been rectified over the last 18 months.

Huddersfield have a clear game plan, they play with tempo and they all know their job roles. They may not have as much experience or quality as us but they have a young, intelligent manager willing to adapt to the league and has stamped his authority on his players. It’s going to be a tough game and Mr Ince will be very up for it!

Saying all of that, it would be very “West Ham” if we won 3 of our next 4 games and eased the pressure on Slav but I believe we’re only ever a couple of injuries, a defensive lapse or strange managerial decision away from going on another awful run.

Depending on fitness, i would start with;

------------------ Hart ---------------------
Zabaleta Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
------ Noble Kouyate Obiang -------
Antonio ----------------------- Lanzini
------------- Hernandez ---------------

Nice and solid plus plenty of attacking ability in there too.

Sakho, Ayew, Fernandes and hopefully Carroll are all decent attack minded options from the bench if we need a goal. Time to focus on being a tight solid unit from the off and not coming in 2 or 3 down at half time.

For me has to be 3 at the back.

------------------ Hart
---------Zaba - Reid - Oggy ---------
Byram - Obiang - Kouyate - Cresswell
------------- Noble - Lanzini -------------
---------------Hernandez-------------------

Subs - Adrian, Rice, Collins, Masuaku, New Player, Ayew, Sahko.

1-0 would do me just fine. A clean sheet would be a dream. Back to basic and a little heart/passion from everyone please.

You would reward the high profile mistake from Rice that gifted Newcastle their first goal with a place in the side as CB for the next game?

And you would drop a winger in favour of a full back to sit in front of our left back despite the crosses he has been putting in?

Each to their own, but questionable logic for me.

Reid for Collins if he's fit. Normally I'd have Antonio for Byram - but I'm choosing the higher chance of a clean sheet over goals for this one.
