I want to add some of my own, seeing as we will most likely have either a terrible, terrible season or actually go down. Here is my lineup, with BFS back in charge to get us out the championship at the first time of asking.

So once the dust has settled we move on and go again on the pitch. so far disaster has struck us and we face the mighty huddersfiled who are playing well and flying high. what have we come that we fear this game!

hart
zab collins reid
byram kouyate noble obiang cresswell
antonio hernandez

subs adrian, masuaka ogbonna fernandez rice ayew martinez

no lanzini for this one again. no carvalho and obviously no carthorse carroll as he is 2 weeks away.
fernandez can cover byram if needed as has played defensive right midfield last season.
depends how we use the middle 3 as always. kouyate will bring needed physical presence and drive. Obiang to hold more. Noble is the problem ? too slow for further upfield and gets caught when deep lying.
Hopefully antonio will be fully recovered as he is a threat and like two players with his pace, strength and effort. First man on the sheet for me.

If the team is fit and slav has his tactics worked out then we have a chance. 1-0 hammers Iron Mic

Will the chant of "You're not fit to own the club" start before of after Huddersfield's third?

At least this should be a good game to watch.
Huddersfield flying high, excited to be playing at the OS for the first time (they'll learn) & determined to get an away win.
Us, more players back(?), match fitter(?), rested(?) & determined to get our first win. Can't see how it can end a 0-0.
Trouble is, it could be just as much a 0-3 loss as a 3-0 win. I simply have no idea how this match will turn out.
But it should be entertaining.

if our lazy unfit bunch apply themselves fully they could win this. if they slack off then we could lose it. who knows which west ham will turn up.

hart
zab collins reid
byram kouyate noble obiang cresswell
antonio hernandez

could go 3-4-3

byram kouyate obiang cresswell
antonio hernandez sakho

I doubt slav will go 3 up front as he struggles to think past 1 most of the time.
hernandez on his own up there is a waste as he needs support.

I was wrong, it's going to be even more toxic than last season :thdn:

How many internationals do Huddersfield have ? Not many I would reckon.Half our first xi will have been all over the world. They will have had a much better preparation.Think I read they went on some training camp together,so they've had 2 weeks to prepare and already on a high from their start.we will have 3 or 4 days to prepare .Interested to see bookies odds on this for me it's pretty even if I was a neutral wanting a bet.

We are odds on 4/5  always amazes me how bookies go on reputation rather than current form.

Those odds are generous IMHO. With some key players back and two weeks to have sorted things since Newcastle we should win. Yes Huddersfield have started well but they have been helped by a relatively friendly set of fixtures.

They rely on a high energy press and keeping it tight but let's not build them up into some kind of super team.

If we compete in midfield we will win and that is what Slav needs to work on in training over the next week.
