Back to the formation that worked well in Bilic's first season.

----------------Hart--------------
Zabaleta-Reid-Ogbonna-Masuaku
---------Kouyate-Noble---
Antonio----Lanzini----------Arnautovic
------------Hernandez

We have enough physicality and height in Kouyate, Antonio and Arnie to justify not starting Carroll.
Would be tempted to put Rice in instead of Noble to cover for Kouyate wandering off after about 65 mins.

If Bilic wants to stay with 5 a the back then...

----------------------Hart--------------
Zabaleta-Fonte-Reid-Ogbonna-Masuaku
--------------Kouyate-Lanzini---
--------Antonio--------------Arnautovic
-----------------Hernandez

Burnley are undefeated in 5 ( All of Sept) and lets be honest have been excellent so far this season, this game shouldn't be taken lightly.

WH have a decent record up there and have the squad capable of getting a result just depends on Slav's selection / tactics.

I think it works in our favour the International break because after their win at Everton they will be buzzing and wanting to go and play this week to keep the momentum so the break will be a frustration to them.

being a betting man I am gonna go for a 1-0 win - yes another clean sheet! but a boring as **** game as Slav seems to be setting up his teams this way recently.

They ping a lot of balls into the box. Vokes is very good in the air and they'll feed off loose balls caused by his aerial challenges. They all work hard and will press us. They're also very well organised positionally. The second they lose the ball, their players are quickly back in their defensive positions which make them hard to break down with a slow build up.

Best way to beat them is to match them for work and aggression, stay very solid, organised, and no nonsense at the back with plenty of height in there (Collins would have been useful for this one), and hit them with pace when we do have the ball. I would certainly be looking at the likes of Sakho and Hernandez for this one ahead of Carroll. As organised as Burnleys defence is, it's not the quickest.

If we go 4-2-3-1 then I'd have a front 4 of Masuaku, Lanzini, Antonio, and hernandez

This is going to be hard, tough, probably boring game, ultra well drilled side, really rate Dyche, with the money we've spent, you would hope the likes of Arnie will provide a bit of spark to make the difference, Lanzini back. Worse thing that can happen is we concede first, they barely let in any goals.

Only just realised how far off this one. If I was basing the team on last weekend, I'd go as follows

------------------------- Hart ----------------------------
Zabaleta ------ Fonte --- Reid ---------- Masuaku
Antonio - Noble - Obiang - Lanzini - Arnautovic
------------------------ Sakho ---------------------------

Crosses, corners, shots on target put their young keeper under pressure and he will make mistakes.
Everton did not do this.
Plus, I know it's a bit radical, but why don't we try and get Hernandez more than one touch in their box.
We will win this.

Pope the keeper is 25 not 18, he may not be Lev Yashin but he's not a kid.

Like the look of that one. However I would be surprised if Slav sticks with 4atb for an away game.

If he does I'd like what you've done there. If he doesn't I would go for this;

------------------ Hart

----------Zab Fonte Reid

------Antonio Kouyate Obiang Masuaku

------------------- Lanzini

---------- Sakho Hernandez

Antonio will be covered by zabaleta enough to bomb forward. We just need to ensure the wingbacks provide the width and kouyate and obiang are disciplined enough to get back. They have the athleticism between them to do so.

Think a draw up there would be a decent result.
With only 7 goals in 7 games I'd go for a 1-1.

Against the lesser teams this would be my choice, plenty of pace and creativity to break teams down. Against the better ones I would put Kouyate back in the centre and move Lanzini into Arnies role.

The only way that we will beat Burnley is if we match their workrate and determination. Dyche has created a very good atmosphere in the dressing room and you can see each and every player giving 110% for their manager. I would go with a 433 or 4231 formation for this game. This stops them doubling up on us on the wings and gives us pace to break on the counter. Bring on Arnie and one of Carroll/Sakho if we are having trouble unlocking their defence.

--------------Hart---------------------
Zaba Fonte Reid Cresswell
---------Noble Kouyate----------
Antonio Lanzini Masuaku
---------Hernandez---------------

If we get a win up there, it would be our 6th straight win v Burnley. Not to many times we have done that v anyone. In fact we have a very good record of late versus them.

Last 19 games played against Burnley. P19 W14 D3 L2 F40 A17 GD +23

They are a hard team to break down and well drilled. Would be more than happy with a draw. 1-1 will do me.

Think at some point we have to be due an away Penalty, cant recall the last one we got.

That would be my starting XI but Fonte and Ogbonna is 50/50 for me.

They've been better away from home this season so far. They lost to WBA, drew to Huddersfield and beat a Palace side who I thought were unfortunate not to come away with anything from Turf Moor. So frustrating that with the quality we have in this side we still play some poor poor football. We should be beating this mob and anything less than a win is a bad result in my eyes, only due to the fact that 7 points from 7 games just is not good enough. But knowing West Ham and Bilic (though this is for another thread) it will probably be a 0-0 or a 1-1.
