I would imagine a lot of other clubs' fans think that about us this season.Pango wrote:Think they could be the relegation 'yardstick' this season.
Finish above them and you'll probably be okay. Below them and strong chance of going down.
Win Sat and we are 5 points clear of them. That's a decent buffer.

Newcastle
Bournemouth
West Brom
Tottenham
Huddersfield
Bournemouth
Crystal Palace
Brighton
Watford
Re: West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: match thread
In previous years you could have looked at that fixture list and put your house on 25 points.
However, 15 points should be doable.
Bournemouth home and away for 6.

8 wins and a draw? I don’t know who you’ve been supporting in previous years but it’s not usartlin wrote:In previous years you could have looked at that fixture list and put your house on 25 points.

In previous years (Under Avram or Roeder), some would also look at that and think where the fk are the points coming from....artlin wrote:In previous years you could have looked at that fixture list and put your house on 25 points.

Quoted both of mine ..... I was being rather fair I thought ... There are 3 worse teams than them (just) they just have to prove it.

So Moyes says Antonio and Noble likely to miss tomorrow. But Kouyate fit.

So Zabaleta, Adrián and Arnie the only likely changes from wednesday’s ‘reserve’ side?HammerMan2004 wrote:So Moyes says Antonio and Noble likely to miss tomorrow. But Kouyate fit.

You keep banging this drum but team selection wasn't the issue midweek. The side out there was perfectly capable of attempting to win the game had they been instructed to.thejackhammer wrote: So Zabaleta, Adrián and Arnie the only likely changes from wednesday’s ‘reserve’ side?
Re: West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: match thread
I think this could end up a goalless draw if we are short of any creative midfielders (ie. Noble and Lanzini). Both sides might try and keep it tight and nick it in the last 5 mins. Newcastle have a better available midfield but I think we have a better defence and attack. Can't really see this as an expansive entertaining game but rather a scrappy hard fought one with lots of passes going astray or runs being made into 'dead-ends'. If we can try and support our front players a bit more , we might get something from this game. Newcastle will be the fresher of the two and I can see Benitez imploring his team to keep the tempo high from kick-off to tire us out.

Re: West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: match thread
We have to get something here, I still can't believe we lost 3-0 to them, Newcastle are rubbish and look like relegation fodder with all their Championship level players.
