Re: West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: match thread
Dissapointed to lose, but I actually enjoyed the game. I thought Moyes team selection and tactics were ok. The problem, in my opinion, was that we were a bit pantomime season defensively. Reid, Ogbonna and Antonio are currently stealing a living. All were very poor throughout. On the plus side I thought Arnoutavic, Ayew, Arthur and Creswell did fine. Antonio missed two great heading opportunities. Did Ogbonna win a header and wasnt it embarrasing watching Reid try and run a couple of minutes before half time, when he got injured? Today, it was about certain players under performing and others not getting what their effort deserved. Plenty though for some to fuel their own agendas and tin foil hat dilusions.
I can understand the dissapointment, but this is the usual West Ham way.

Antonio’s problem is that when he was good, it was partly due to his motivation to succeed, and play for the club
He’s been quite vocal in the changing room about wanting out for a good while now, and it shows on the pitch

I don't disagree with any of this but it seems a little inconsistent to hammer and refuse to blame the manager when Bilic was in the seat and get on Moyes back without a moment's hesitation. Let's see what happens during the transfer window and how Moyes reacts to this. Just for the record, I'd put a significant amount of blame on whoever managed to construct such a lightweight squad and from what I've read and understood a lot of that blame is down to Sullivan.brothernero wrote:Ironmark of course it is down to the manager.
The players were crap bar perhaps Arnie. But they were playing the way the manager set them up and the way he wanted them to play.
Was it not the manager who at home v a woefully at of form team who decided not to play a striker?
Just as it always should the buck stops with the gaffer. He will get credit when it is due and he should get held responsible when it goes wrong.
Today's line-up and tactics were a disgrace. And that is 100% down to the manager.

If Bilic deserved credit, he got it.
When he got it wrong, it was talked about and commented on.
Same goes for Moyes and whoever the next manager will be.

Just got back. 5 at the back and no striker at home against a bottom 3 club side is shocking. We set up not to lose but yet again we made silly mistakes which let the opposition score. We also give away far too many soft free kicks in dangerous areas.

Real gutting to lose today, but it happens I guess. Just annoying that it’s one we needed to keep ahead. I’m sure we’ll pick up a few more wins in the coming games though. COYI.

If that's the case the twat needs to be binned off as soon as the window opens. He's not even championship level at the moment. Does he still think Chelsea are interested? :lol:chalks wrote:Antonio’s problem is that when he was good, it was partly due to his motivation to succeed, and play for the club

If there was a game to sum up West Ham....
We conceded 2 goals in 4 games against City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Stoke and managed to concede 3 in one game to a championship side.

We simply are not good enough. Reid, koyate, Antonio, obaing and cresswell are shadows of their former selves.

The bottom 12 or so sides in the Premiership are all on a very similar level. Impossible to call who will win when they play each other, so not that surprising we lost to then. Bournemouth and west brom could also go either way, but we definitely need 4 points

With the obligatory goal scored by an ex player not deemed good enough, against a team on a ridiculous losing streak and with a comedy winner.

Re: West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: match thread
We literally have no central midfield when both Lanzini and Noble don't play.
