West Ham Utd 2-1 West Bromwich Albion (02/01/18)

Post by Crouchend_Hammer »

I have never started a match thread before but thought I would give it a go.

We start 2018 with an absolute nailed on must win

I woukd revert back to a 4-1-2-3 (or some kind of variation) as we need to get at them, and five at the back is not working as our wing backs sit so deep.

If we play Rice as DM who can drop back into a back five when needed then this gives us an extra body in midfield

Have to win this and I think we can (or should) as long as he sorts our **** out at the back and plays at least 1 out and out Striker up top.

I also notice on Sky that West Brom haven't won a game in 18.

Play Hernandez.

Phillips is back and Chadli is supposed to be coming back. They could do a Newcastle on us if we aren't careful. Zabaleta is a total liability at the moment.

Reid and Antonio to replace Cresswell and Ayew.

Zabaleta will be fine against Brunt. They are one of the slowest teams in the league. Set pieces are the risk.

If we win we are still on target for that 7 ponts from 12 I was looking for with those four games. Frustrating as we should have 6 it will still be a decent return IF we beat West Brom.

Well I would have a 100% record if it wasn't for the referee! ;)

Hopefully the week off for us as opposed to 48 hours for them will massively work in our favour.

Third must win game out of three, surely we must get one. Right?

Said in relegation thread considering importance of this game now I’m amazed they haven’t appealed the scheduling. I think they’d have a very valid case. If we can’t win this with such a huge advantage it’s time to turn the lights out.11/10 is a fantastic price on us considering.

Another tough game...we cannot contemplate anything but a win. Twice we have gone in front and twice we have been pegged back because we haven’t been ruthless and gone for the throat when we should. We should beat these, but it is going to be another soap opera..2-1

Same as today. Reid's a better centre half than Cresswell.

Masuaku starts at wing back again. Antonio and Arnie up top - Lanzini behind.

I woukd. Newcastle played 4 at the back against us and still had thwir fullbacks bombing on. If Yedlin can cause havoc from RB (which he did) then Masuaku can from left back

We aren't going to to keep a clean sheet so let's go for it

Hopefully Rice and Noble in for Obiang and Kouyate.
Hernandez in for Ayew.
