Watched the Shrews against Cardiff in pre-season, they were very impressive. In fact I think they beat every Championship team including Wolves, Villa and indeed Cardiff.Corney Beal wrote:If Moyes and the team take this as lightly as many of our fans we could easily get turned over.
Going very well, not losing any of their last six. Don't score too many, but resolute at the back. Wouldn't be surprised to see this go to a replay.

All I really wanted to see this season is a top 10 finish ( unlikely ) and a good FA Cup run. Cant understand why people aren’t fussed it’s a great competition

I really hope the club doesn't let themselves, and us down by ' throwing' this.
I know and understand that the premier league is the bee all and end all now days, but I still say what's the point in entering a competition if you've no intention of doing your best ?

Well if clubs are that much against it why don't they do what Man Ure did years ago and get special dispensation from the F A not to enter. On the grounds of 'can't be arsed'

I shall make sure I'm in the ground nice and early, to catch him while he's warming up. Cheeky ****sharphammer wrote:4th official for this match......

We were in the quarter final of the other cup playing an Arsenal reserve side and didn’t take it seriously so don’t for one second think we will be at full strength or close to it here.

I'd like to see us send out the strongest side possible for this .Anyone that thinks a 3rd round FA Cup tie will be a cake walk is deluded , Shrewsbury Town are flying high in their division and will be well up for this .
A full house, live on the telly, their players will be lifted by those factors so we need to field the best we can for this particular fixture .
I'd go with the most physical side we can muster , as the battle is likely to be based around strength rather than guile .
I'm really looking forward to this , a proper English cup tie .

----------------Collins---------Ogbonna--------Reid------------
Kouyate-----------Noble------------Obiang------Rice ------Arthur
-----------------------------Ayew--------------Arnie--------------
Hart, Carroll, Hernandez, Fernandes, Lanzini,Zabaleta, Quina

4 CB's and 3 DM's on the pitch against a league 1 side, ouch
Re: Shrewsbury Town F.C. v West Ham United: Match thread

There's bound to be lots of changes because (in common with most teams) lots of players have sustained minor injuries over the holiday period. Reid needs to sit this one out, probably Zab but who's gonna play RB?
Noble might be ok as he only played 45 against wba. If Carroll's fit I'd pair him with Hernandez and play 2 up. Full backs is a problem so we probably can't play 442. Rice should be fine to start I guess with Collins coming in for Reid. I don't believe Moyes will do an Alladyce and play the youth team, (basically to lose) but they'll be at least 5 changes

If Moyes does the sensible thing and rests anyone with a knock, or who's just knackered after two PL games in 48 hours, I'd like to see a few of the kids start - AND I'd like him to tell the starting line up to GO OUT THERE AND PLAY A BIT OF FOOTBALL!!
We are West Ham for God's sake!

Bloody ridiculous. Last chance for us to do anything decent/interesting this season (mid table obscurity doesn't count).chigwells finest wrote:i can see us getting turned over here , and i wont care 1 bit

Fernandes had an op recently so don't think he will be involved.

That Dave Walker chap on the Westhamway podcast being a prime example."What division are Shrewsbury in anyway?".
Moyes will field several youngsters and rest many stars. I guess it's all about an acceptable blend. It won't be as bad a line up Big Sam v Forest at least.
