Liverpool 4-1 West Ham Utd (24/02/18)
This popped up on my FB timeline the other day. We'd take any one of them this year, I think...

Be interesting if Lanzini and Reid are back? Definitely think we can cause them problems if we don’t buckle.

The West Ham way is to get some sort of result out of this. Really hope Manu is back and if he is and they can we can play a system accommodating him, Arnie, Chico and Mario, It could be quite interesting.

Might need a bit of a miracle on this one. Hopefully we get at them and put their shambolic defence under pressure.
Salah can create a goal out of nothing.

Re: Liverpool v West Ham Utd: match thread
I’ll be amazed if this finishes any less than 3-0 to them unfortunately.
Re: Liverpool v West Ham Utd: match thread
Why? I would back us to at least score. Spent £75m on VVD and they have looked no better at the back.Skandi Brudson wrote:I’ll be amazed if this finishes any less than 3-0 to them unfortunately.
It's like Wengers system; Klopps tactics just do not prioritise defence due to the pressing, and as a result they will always be shipping goals.
That being said I think we will lose 3-2 or 3-1.

We had our 'once in a lifetime' win there a couple of years ago. Unfortunately it's back to normal service. So expect another win at Anfield around 2066. This time it will be 2 or 3 nil to them (obviously).

I'd bite your hand off for a draw. They press like hell, have pace in every position and are clinical going forward. We'll either need to play our best game of the season or they need to well off the pace for us to get something from this.

Not lost any of our last 3 games at Anfield. (0-3, 0-0, 2-2)
What price making that 4 games unbeaten up there?

Re: Liverpool v West Ham Utd: match thread
We play the same way as we did against Spurs away (league) and we stand a chance of a point.
I'd have
-----------------------Adrian
---------Collins* - Ogbonna - Rice
Zabaleta - Noble-Mario-Kouyate-Cresswell
----------------------Arnautovic
---------------------Hernandez
That's a lot of running and pressing, but Byram and Antonio can be held back for fresh legs and possibly earlier than normal substitutions.
*People might clamour for someone younger than Ginge, but when did he last have a bad game at Anfield?

Re: Liverpool v West Ham Utd: match thread
Moyes is pretty good at parking the bus against the big 6, we could well come away with a point or even a 0-1 win.
We can frustrate them an they are pretty average at the back. If we are on our game we can get something here

Re: Liverpool v West Ham Utd: match thread
A disciplined back 8 with a pair of energetic, rumbustious forwards targetting their piss poor full backs and keeper could see us get something.
I personally wouldn't be surprised to see Antonio up top with Arnautovic for this one, with Evra very possibly starting.

I see what you mean and I don't agree with pandering to player power, but I would be very wary about dropping Hernandez and risking upsetting him just when he is getting into a rich vein of form.bubbles1966 wrote:A disciplined back 8 with a pair of energetic, rumbustious forwards targetting their piss poor full backs and keeper could see us get something.
