A point would be marvellous and I'd happily bank that right now. Follow that up with a home win against Stoke and I reckon we may just have enough points. No way will you need 40 points this season.
Re: Chelsea v West Ham United: Match Thread
I think we'll win it.
Spurs knocked the stuffing, belief and ambition out of them, and they're not the sort of team to play for pride.
We need it and hopefully want it more than they do.

Keep Hart in goal - he'll want to impress between now and the end of his temp contract.
Much the same team as last week.
...............................Hart
Zabba.....Rice......Oggie.....Cresswell....Arthur
....................Noble.......Kouyate
...........Fernandez.......................Mario
................................Arnie
Subs: Adrian, Hugill, 5 others who are fit enough to turn up
Heart says 2-1 to us. Head says 2-0 to them.

It wouldn't be the greatest surprise to see Conte shuffle his pack and throw in some squad players/youths. They haven't got anything much to play for in the league.
Collins, Lanzini and Hernandez should all be available for us.

Agree with MD HM.
It annoys me when Hart is stood between the sticks instead of our beloved Adrian.

Someone calling for Lanzini's return to the team? When is this love-in going to end. He is a creative, attacking player who rarely scores and rarely assists. Yes, he looks technically gifted, but thats not enough. His injury last weekend was a blessing in disguise. It allowed Mario to play in his more natural position and guess what? he scored and assisted. Lanzini needs to go in the summer for big bucks (simply because he has a reputation, not because he's worth it). Will he go on to bigger and better things? Possibly, but he has had minimal impact for us in the last year and a half.

Are you fishing mate? Mario got a goal and assist because we played well and Southampton were poor, not because Lanzini wasn't on the pitch.tizzwoz wrote:Someone calling for Lanzini's return to the team? The reality is they should both be playing in a 3 man midfield with a proper holder/destroyer behind them who doesn't cross the half way line. Mario is our most rounded midfielder imo. Not afraid to do the dirty work but he also excels in getting forward. Lanzini is the most offensive, and to balance them we need the defensive midfielder we have been trying to buy for 2 years.

Ladzini - Why must someone with an opposing opinion to yours be phishing? Tell me 5 great, or even really good performances Lanzini has had this season? Your next argument will be that, other than Arnie, no West Ham player has had 5 great games this season... but thats my point. Lanzini''s position isn't just about goals and assists, its also about setting the tone of the game, setting the pace, taking close games by the scruff of the neck and producing a piece of magic, be it a pass, a goal or just a dribble. He hasn't done it... or certainly hasn't done it enough.
If we're ever going to get near a top 7 finish (which will be our aim in August) Lanzini either has to have the season of his life, or be shipped out for someone who has more end product.

Maybe not 5, but Huddersfield away, Chelsea at home, Stoke away and Spurs in the cup come to mind straight away. Plus he's got in and impressed in the Argentina squad. You may not be fishing, but I'd say you were way wide of the mark.tizzwoz wrote:Ladzini - Why must someone with an opposing opinion to yours be phishing? Lanzini's assist for Ayew at Wembley was the single most skilfull bit of play we've had all season.
