We’ve had an excellent window, they have had an even better one. Klopp has built an excellent team, and they are probably the most likely challengers to City this term. On the other hand, we are fresh and new and a far cry from the team that was thumped 4-1 twice by them last term. We should be able to match them, and hopefully we will have the savvy to make a good game of it.

I have decided that I would like the freshest team available....

I hope their new Brazilian keeper has an absolute mare and fumbles a header back from Lovren and somehow throws it through his own legs in the 93rd minute for us to win 1-0.

I'm in on this one although I dread that the General is going to gift them at goal because of poor distribution.

The clock is ticking for our starter up north.

Pellegrini has a few questions to answer

1. fab or Adrian - Adrian for me
2. cress or Arthur - the most difficult one . is cresswell fully fit as hes had a short pre season. Arthur is but can he defend better. If fit I would go cresswell , just !
3. diop or Balbuena - both new but diop faster. diop for me .
4. formation - a 433 which will become a 451 at times
5. DM - rice or obiang to partner noble - rice, easiest one !
6. 1 or 2 upfront. one up top in the shape of arnie.
7. yarmolenko or Antonio. due to fitness I would start Antonio.

so folks this is my new look hammers team to beat Liverpool and start the Pellegrini revolution

adrian
fredericks diop ogbonna cresswell
noble rice wilshere
antonio arnie anderson

subs fabianski zabaleta Balbuena masuaka obiang yarmolenko hernandez

Hi All

Looking forward to the first game of the season. Normally we stay over for this one but this time driving up and back on the same day. Where is a good place to park?

Thanks.

Often a chance of street parking quite close where the kids will 'watch your car' for you...

Other "official" car parks are all visible on the approach roads with the yellow P signs. Personally, I have found it easier in the past to park in the city centre and get the train to Sandhills. From there you can either walk (about 15 mins) or get the Soccerbus to the ground.

Parking the bus is the wrong idea for this one. That's exactly what they'll be expecting and they excel at pressing in that area of the pitch. I think we'll have a go at them and that's the right tactic. There's the chance that they'll be over confident and have already written the game off as a win. Saying that, we don't want to be wide open and we'll need to work hard all over the pitch. The longer we can go without conceding, the better chance we'll have as liverpool have a habit of tiring in the second half. We need to offer enough of an attacking that they don't push everyone forward and spend the whole game camped in our half. Our pacy players such as arnie and anderson will be very important. Hopefully they turn up.

Long Ball !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All their back four will be in our half....set Anderson off and running (mind you his 1 v 1 finishing last week left a bit to be desired) or stick Arnie on Van Dijk and have him push him around.....then chip Alisson from the half way line - job done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we have 3 new signings tomorrow who aren't quite ready to play yet, it may force our current lot to try and up their game a bit in order to make sure they keep their place.

It's been a hell of a summer, great signings (on paper), great new manager... let's just pray this team gels.

Whatever happens, Liverpool have made some massive signings and have the confidence from reaching the CL final last season - we just need to ensure that if we do lose on Sunday it doesn't affect our confidence for the rest of the season. This is very much a 'get it out of the way' game for me!

Don’t underestimate our chances here..a draw would be a very good result. Expecting this one to be a great game and 2-2

Is Yarmolenko fit for this? If so...

Adrian
Zabletta Diop Ogbonna Cresswell
Rice
Noble Wilshire
Anderson Arnie Yarmolemko

It's going to be tough as I think they will be the main challengers to City this season. I can't really predict a result until I see how we gel together but would be happy with a point. Ecstatic with 3.
