Elbows will likely start and has been as much of an issue for us as Lukaku of late

Steam in early and see if they're up for it. They're not littered with battlers, and the negativity surrounding JM and Pogba could play right into our hands.
2-2
2-2
Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Manchester Utd: match thread (29/9)
West Ham fans are buzzing after draw with Chelsea and destruction of what is essentially a National league side.
Which means West Ham will lose 0-4.
Which means West Ham will lose 0-4.

MP will have us fully focussed after our training session last night.
we need arnie to be fit for this one and hopefully he will make it.
fab
zab diop Balbuena masuaka
noble rice obiang
yarmolenko arnie Anderson
subs Adrian fredericks ogbonna cresswell sanchez Antonio Snodgrass
a fully professional and great 2-0 win arnie and yarmie show.
the bowl finally gets lift off this season with moaniho complaining it was too noisy for him to think !
he blames the west ham fans for the defeat saying they are the best fans in the world.
he then quits man utd

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Manchester Utd: match thread (29/9)
Man United's season will see-saw its way to at least one cup run and a top 4 finish.
Last season, when it didn't matter to him, Mourinho just came for a point, which we also achieved by packing midfield and hassling and harassing Pogba and co, as soon as they got the ball. They didn't have the ability to play through our defence.
I would be happy, personally, if we echoed last season's efforts. This will require the same line up as vs Chelsea, but with a new approach to the substitutions.
I personally wouldn't start Arnautovic, but, if fit, have him on the bench, with Antonio given at least the first half. Mike has finally scored a goal at the OS and will enjoy putting the opposition back line through its paces.
I back Anderson to either score or assist a goal, too, in a MotM performance.
Score draw, or narrow home win, please, lads.

Is there any news on Arnie?
I think he will be our game changer...
Unless that goal gives Antonio a confidence boost!
They will be there for the taking, let's make it happen.

Would be great if Hernandez was fit enough to make the bench. Could see him coming on and bagging the winner after a tense and dull 80 odd mins of 0-0.

Relatively new centrebacks will generally, at least once, get caught out by Lukaku .I fear.

Zabaleta Diop Balbuena Masuaku
Rice
Noble Obiang
Yarmolenko Arnautovic Anderson
Adrian, Fredericks, Antonio, Perez, Ogbonna, Diangana, Coventry
Assuming Hernandez isn’t fit and Arnautovic is. With no Sanchez we need someone that can slot into the midfield and Coventry is our only option with Fernandes and Cullen on loan. Fredericks on the bench over Cresswell to slot in at rightback if for any reason we need to put Zabaleta in midfield.
Replace Coventry with Hernandez if fit.
Man Utd to park the bus and us to try and counter attack leading to a stodgy 0-0 draw.

b*llocks. Such deep-seated PTSD about Lukaku that I'd forgotten he played for this lot and was still at Everton.irving boleyn wrote:Relatively new centrebacks will generally, at least once, get caught out by Lukaku .I fear.

I respect and hate them in equal measure.HammerMan2004 wrote:****ing hate Man Utd.
My pet grudge is that we had to wait for nearly a month, to replay the FA6 match, in Slav's first season, so as to fit in with their other commitments.
Beating them in the last match at ye olde Boleyene only partially redeemed the season.
That FA Cup had our name on it
They're inferior to Chelsea, but have Lukaku, so will score at least once.
Same team as last league match, unless, of course, Arnautovic is definitely fit.

Our record against this mob has been pretty appalling in recent years , 2 wins in the last 25 games in all comps - though it's W 1 D 3 L 2 in the league at home since we came back up.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Manchester Utd: match thread (29/9)
would take a point..not in the "respect the point" aspect, but they have a point to prove.....
the papers have been all over them this week......losing to Derby at O.T. is going to hurt...
hope we can catch them still licking their wounds, but have to feel when it comes down to the PL, after some disappointing results, Jose going through his tug of war with Pogba............
I would be happy with either 0-0 or 1-1..like the clean sheet but I cannot in all honestly see us stopping Lukakau from scoring.....
just can't...
