Have to agree with this, unfortunately.
It would have been another story without all our injuries & now, suspensions, but it is what it is.

pellegrini has a lot of fondness for the league cup and if arnie only had one game in him this week, i wouldn't be surprised if the gaffer prioritised this one.

Agree with this. Although we have a lot of injuries I think Pelli will give it a go.

To those saying our lack of squad depth and injuries mean we will lose this, Spurs squad depth isn't exactly any better, and they will be playing Man City less than 48 hours before, on a pitch that makes Hackney Marshes look like the Etihad.

If the crowd are up for it, then we will win. All our recent wins against them have come in evening games under the lights, as their fans and players ain't got the bottle for a game like that.

Is Perez still alive? Haven't heard any mention of him being injured, but if he isn't?

Could we see Oxford brought in for this? Been playing regularly for the U23's.

4-2-3-1

Adrian
Fredricks
Diop
Ogbonna
Cresswell
Rice
Oxford
Antonio
Anderson
Snodgrass
Perez

It's going to be a tight game. Will they make this a priority? They have City 48 hours before us then a potentially tricky away game at Wolves on Saturday night and then a CL game against PSV next Tuesday they need to win! Play our strongest squad and lets hope we can get the win!

It's exactly what I [ and probably everyone else ] have been thinking .

We stand an excellent chance of getting through to the next round of the Carabao Cup .

Wow...

Arnautovic - illness
Perez - ankle
Yarmolenko - achilles
Carroll - ankle
Obiang - calf
Sancez - knee
Wilshire - ankle
Lanzini - knee
Reid - knee
Noble - suspended

The whole 'Spurs will have to play a weaker team' thing is a little less of a factor now isn't it. We are so thin on the ground, it is ridiculous.

Expect the likes of Adrian, Fredericks and Ogbonna to play, then depends who else we have left in the squad capable of three games in eight days (they are pro's so should all be).

I'd expect to see something like this...
------------------ Adrain -------------------
Fredericks Diop Ogbonna Cresswell
------- Rice Obiang Snodgrass -------
Antonio ---------------------- Diangana
-------------- Hernandez -----------------

With a bench something like...
Fabianski, Zabaleta, Balbuena, Masuaku, Arnautovic, Powell and Coventry

Might be enough to keep a below par Spurs team quiet for the night, could even be enough to beat them if they are not taking it seriously. Nice to have Arnautovic on the bench to turn to for the last half an hour, could make all the difference.

Adrian
Fredericks Ogbonna Diop Cresswell
Rice Coventry
Diangana Snodgrass Perez
Antonio

That’s all we’ve got. Resting a couple of players admittedly but we are thin.

Arnautovic hasn't looked comfortable all season, he is playing well but hes clearly been getting patched up for each game. Maybe this illness and sitting out the Spurs game (i know its a big one) will actually do him some good, i fear he will be another long term casualty if hes limping around every game he plays.

Not that I mind one bit, but asking the spuds to play twice in 48 hours is a bit rich isn't it? Surely sky should have been told to f**k off with their MNF. Some chance

Spurs couldn't have played at Wembley on Sat or Sun as it was being used by the NFL.

This is totally their own doing due to their own stadium cock up. Man City had no intention of switching the game as it would have meant they would have a lot of away games in a row at the business end of the season. Spurs v Man City had to be scheduled for tonight regardless of Sky showing it or not.

Wouldn't bother starting Arnie.

I get the feeling Spurs have no interest in this competition, there's no point in risking him. Definitely Antonio over Hernandez - the latter needs to stop dining out on past glories.

^^^ I think I agree... It could be a really poor game.

0-0 with a late winner either way. Could even just be 0-0 after 90 and go straight to pens.

The five was his shirt no.5 he has 3 bookings this season, closest to a ban is Snodgrass with 4
