Re: ⚽ Huddersfield Town v West Ham Utd: match thread (10/11)
have to start well against a physical side. Anderson needs to kick on from last week and grady needs to play as he has been since he got in the team.
only choice is at left back Arthur or cresswell ? never change a winning side so I will keep cresswell in and hope he improves. He surely knows that pelle will drop him for a poor performance so that may spur him on !
fab
zab diop balbuena cresswell
snoddy rice obiang
diagana arnie anderson
subs adrian fredericks ogbonna masuaka antonio hernandez coventry
3-0 hammers arnie diop anderson happy hammers

We haven't won 2 league games on the bounce since January 2017? That is a bloody awful stat. Feels like this one's going to be decided by the referee.

Time to change that then ! starting today unbeaten all the way to xmas would be what the doctor ordered. including the city game ! we may get lucky against them and hold on for a draw.
need to beat huddersfield today to turn the corner.I think we will if we are up for it !

Forecast is very cold, very windy, very rainy. There's a deep depression over Huddersfield.
It ain't going to be pretty.

Re: ⚽ Huddersfield Town v West Ham Utd: match thread (10/11)
We have a quick, young, technical side who are arguably better away from home against a team who have managed one home goal all season and look of a sub Premier League standard generally.
In true West Ham fashion, 3-0 Huddersfield.

I was feeling quite optimistic until I read that :shock:DasNutNock wrote:We haven't won 2 league games on the bounce since January 2017? That is a bloody awful stat. Feels like this one's going to be decided by the referee.

I’ll be disappointed if we don’t have these on the back foot. They aren’t very good. I would think our front 3 should open them up pretty easily.

For all the talk about them not being good throughout the thread so far - if they beat us today they will be only two points below us.
I’d be happy with a win by an odd goal off Antonio’s backside. Getting the back-to-back wins monkey off our back would be a big thing.
Personal omens not good today though - cup of tea from the missus that she forgot to put in my West Ham cup, lucky top in the wash.....

Strangely optimistic about this one and think it will be a cracking game too. Not sure what will happen but after a few twists and turns I strongly believe that come 4:45pm we will somehow have 3 more points on the board.

Re: ⚽ Huddersfield Town v West Ham Utd: match thread (10/11)
I'm feeling either a repeat of Leicester where we took the lead miss chance after chance and underservedly draw the game. Or a repeat of Brighton where they take the lead and we huff and puff but don't take our chances.
Hopefully neither will happen. My outlook is the same leading up to the Burnley game. I think it's important we get the first goal and then I think it is important we get a 2nd as soon as possible. If we go 2-0 up then I am confident we will win. We can't keep a clean sheet for toffee. So it's imperative we take our chances today. Don't hang on for a 1-0. Be as ruthless as we was last Saturday.
Same line up please as Burnley. Barring everyone being fit. I would be tempted to stick Carroll on the bench though just in case. Maybe to have a little more pace on counter being away from home stick Masuaku back in the team for Cresswell. Both are as poor as each other defensively so makes no difference.
For me this is another must win. I won't accept a draw. I don't buy into the saying: 'any point away from home is a good result'. Utter nonsense. We need to be picking up wins, not a point from the bottom 6 teams unless you want a relegation battle on your own hands!?
Win today and we can start looking up a little more and we'll have far more breathing space between ourselves and the teams near the bottom.

Mitrovic got absolutely no service on Monday night and basically became isolated and frustarated, which gave Huddersfield a much easier night than they should've had. I don't think this should be a problem with us and Arnautovic, and I'm sure they will know that. Just put them under pressure early and I think we should fine.

Mitrovic is a myth. Can't believe we have some people who want to sign him.il_martello_di_genovesi wrote:Mitrovic got absolutely no service on Monday night and basically became isolated and frustarated, which gave Huddersfield a much easier night than they should've had. I do rate Mitrovic tbh. He was completely isolated Monday night. The problem is he started to throw his arms about and get involved in needless rubbish than try and make an impact on the game himself. Huddersfield basically had such an easy night.
I actually think Mitrovic would do well here, but also the type that would piss our fans off when he finds it tough.

I prefer Masuaku to cresswell but does anyone think cresswell’s inclusion released Anderson last week from covering LB and allowed him to attack more?
I don’t think cresswell is a better defender than Masuaku but I think he overlaps less frequently and maybe that had an affect on Anderson going forward?
