Thought this as well, really impressive actually. Really loving this season so far, long may it continue!WorcesterWHU wrote:What's impressive - and slightly surprising given how open we can be at times - is that's apparently the first time since the first day of the season where Arsenal haven't scored in the league.

So impressed again by the way we killed the game in the last half hour.

We were in complete control. West Ham of old would have sat back and ended up loosing the game, today we went looking for a seconddavids cross wrote:So impressed again by the way we killed the game in the last half hour.

While they had a few moments in the last 15 minutes one of the most pleasing aspects was how we closed the game out. Composed, calm and well organised. That’s part of the big team mentality we need to cultivate. Arsenal get goals late in games but we weren’t really threatened by them and an outsider looking in wouldn’t know who the ‘big’ team were in that game based on performance.
Brilliant.
Brilliant.
Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Arsenal: match thread
Thought they were poor myself. Lacked any real cutting edge or threat. Even their passing wasn't as crisp and accurate as you'd expect from that sort of team. They just didn't quite seem up for it.
We were overplaying in the first half and trying to take a touch too many at the back which could have bitten us. Even with that we had 3 really good chances and come half time I had to wonder if we would rue that. Nope. Great to see Rice get that goal and go mental about it. Thought we did well for 10 after that, but then we started to sink deeper and deeper. Had the referee and linesman been applying the Liverpool offside rule for them they'd have got a point at least.
Went in assuming they would score (their attack and our defence) thought a score draw would have been a good result, but surely no one can argue that we deserved all three.

Thought Arsenal started well actually. First 20 mins they looked threatening.
After that we got into it, and were the better side.
So many good performances today.
Creswell was very good. Felipe. Rice. Zab. Diop.
Can't remember Fabianski being too much under stress.

actually glad it was a belter of a goal (from a superb little ball from Nasri) and not a misplaced little bobble over the line...
one really worth celebrating !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great team performance, high on energy, great on concentration and clinical finish for what was the best chance of the game and he took it. Anderson was excellent again, seems to come alive in second halves of games, and despite Arnie being less than convincing he put in a decent shift. Antonio if he had a better left foot may well have scored today but always offers a threat with great ball carrying and Nasri added that little bit of class on the ball.
Arsenal were no mugs today, we just ensured we closed them down higher up the pitch, which as we saw, if done right, means technically better teams can not get in and around the box. When they did get there, we had a great high line and made sure we got nicks in the tackle and blocked off the spaces.
Why an earth are Arsenal letting Ramsey go - best player for them when he came on and that was for just 20 minutes or so.

Strange performance from Arsenal today. Some uniquely average players stealing a living for them.

They've had teams like that before against us but still end up turning us over.
Today, we did enough.

She wasn't actually in the porn game for a long time, but was very popular, and has now quit it presumably which is why she said 2014.
Anyway back on topic, it's particularly encouraging to see Cresswell and Antonio so improved! Remember they both had cracking seasons in 15/16 but then fell away. Lovely to see those 2 playing well again.

It’s so tight in that bunch from 6th downwards that just a little thing like that twatty deflected goal off Balbueba at the King Power could cost several million and a few places come season’s end
