West Ham Utd 1 Osasuna 1 (lost 7-8 on pens) (06/08/05)
Unable to see one yet..so thought i'd kick things off.
Am hoping Pardew plays our strongest 11 today, wanna get an idea of what we're in for next saturday, except hopefully with a new striker too. For many like me will be the first time we've got to witness the new signings, i hope Benayoun gets a good runout.
I reckon: West Ham 2-1 Osasuna
Harewood and Zamora with the goals for us, some spanish **** for them.
COME ON YOU IRONSSS!!!

I'm guessing the team will be ...
Carroll
Repka
Gabbidon
Ferdinand
Konchesky
Newton
Dailly
Reo-Coker
Etherington
Sheringham
Harewood
Subs: Hislop, Collins, Mullins, Benayoun, Zamora (plus Clarke, Fletcher, Noble and Williams if they've got an agreement to allow extra players)
Three thoughts arise ...
It's still fundamentally last season's side
We need that striker badly, even if it's Fredi
Benayoun is going to be this year's Rebrov: bags of skill and promise, but just not physically strong enough to fit into Pardew's system (hope I'm wrong about that)
Oh, a fourth thought ...
I still think Chadders is a better right-wing than Ten Grand (Rising to 125 After Promotion)

Or on the other hand, with his skill and slight build, he could be this years juninhoCountryboy wrote: Three thoughts arise ...

If you pay cash I think you have to queue up to get a card...a card that I apparently already have at my Dad's house when he bought tickets for the Blackburn game...that's why i'm here and not on a trainThe Delephant Man wrote:Does the new entry card system mean that if I had a change of heart (or suddenly found £20 in my pocket I didn't relaise I had ) can I not turn up at the game today and pay cash on the door?

I to expect Pardew to put out his strongest starting 11.
The team i wouldn go for is:
----------------- Carroll -------------------
Gabbidon --- Anton --- Ward --- Konch
---------------------Dailly ------------------
Newton ---- NRC ----- Yossi ----- Matty
--------------------Harewood -------------
Yossi knows how to play against spanish opposition so hopefully he will shine. With 'Football Genius' at DMC and the pace, creativity and work rate of the 4 in front of him we should have a good chance of bossing the midfield as early as possible which will be very important for us in the Premiership. I fear that the new striker will need time to setle in and get use to how the team pllays while at the same time the rest of the team will need to get use to him so IMO its very important the rest of the team is as settled as possible.
Cant see us running away with this but we should be too strong and fit for them as we have more pre seaosn under out belt so im going for a 4 - 2 victory.

So if i go along this afternoon and queue at the ticket office and pay cash to get in, they will give me a card to swipe myself in?HammerMan2004 wrote: If you pay cash I think you have to queue up to get a card...a card that I apparently already have at my Dad's house when he bought tickets for the Blackburn game...that's why i'm here and not on a train
Or do I take my ST with me, pay cash and use that to gain entry?

I'm hoping Hammers can beat Osasuna, just as my Spanish team (Real Betis) did in the Cup. But don't under-rate Osasuna, quite a few La Liga clubs did last season to their cost.
Just as well Hammers are not out here playing Betis or Sevilla as it's 109F at the moment, though it should cool down to around 85-90F by 7.30pm
