The players can concetrate on the league, less fatigue, sharper and better players.
Might be for the best.

Bolton appears to be one of those sides we love to beat, but somehow always get the better of us. Not really concerned, Bolton took the chance in what was otherwise a dour game.

lets be honest here, no-one likes being knocked out of a cup, and everyone wants to win a cup, but the main aim this season was and still is to stay up, and as much as people don't want to hear it the same can be said for next season, (ipswich anyone?), so yeah i'm a little bit gutted that we been knocked out by this bunch of peter kay loving, flat cap wearing tossers, but i'd be even more gutted if come may, we were back awaiting the fixtures for the coca cola next season. so let bolton have their cup game, if it means staying up and doing the double over them next season, i'm all for it.

Just got back from the game (i live around the corner to the Shoebox stadium). Very disapointed, Koncheski stood out like a sore thumb, the only one with quality. Daily passes teh ball backwards more time than a rugby player. BUT Harewood, what is going on :?: .Slow, clueless and uttly useless, Pardew has to get into his head and sort him out or we could be in trouble. As for Teddy, i think it's thank you and good bye, hang your boots up mate, your too old.

In all fairness, 1-0 will do against anyone, the game was nothing special, was good to give the fringe players a run out.

Borgetti pulls it out for us again, he is looking more andmore like a great buy. Just wish Yossi would have put pen to paper as well. Oh well can't win everything.

Personally I would have put the academy team out against you, left the players for the important games. Like Charlton at the valley at the weekend or next Thursday against St.Petersburg rather than playing in a second rate competition which will just drain the players. Glad the other players played OK, nothing special on the park today apart from the result.

As Sam said. Job done. Next.
