Liverpool deserved the win but had the rub of the green.

We were ineffective in the final third of the pitch and lost out on many 50-50 tackles in midfield. Saying that, I thought Reo had some good runs from the back and Gabbidon was class - some excellent last ditch challenges.

By no means a disaster, cos as others have said, this wasn't a game that we needed to win in order to stay up.

Time to drop Etherington - looks completely out of sorts to me.

At least Pardew still has some cash to spend come January.

I think this pretty much sums up the opinion of the Amsterdam jury too. Ethers simply disappears, usually straight after HT - thought Mullins made too many poor passes and Yossi wasn't his usual self. In truth, we didn't deserve to get anything out of the game on today's performance.

Well overall i think we can be pleased with the back of west ham united this season, Meaning the defence!!
We just need the attacking side of our team more fluid!!

Repka has improved greatly!! Anton Ferdinand and Gabbidon were born to be together!!

Last of all Paul Konchesky has cleared about about 5 off the line this season!!
What a player he is, should be in the ENGLAND SQUAD!!
Well the way England are playing at the moment, i bet Pauls fuckin gald hes not been picked by Stupid b*stard Sven who picks players like Warnock who couldn't even make the first team !! PRICK!!

Im just back..four hour drive....cold beer in me hand....a good day out-could have been better tho

Just got back from watching the match. Very Depressing.
Shaka; brilliant

yeah..he made a couple of superb saves, and one dash out to intercept which was sublime---looked slow for the goal-was there a deflection?!

Repka: Brilliant

after his recent away trips, I was very nervous...however i think he did very well today, guilt of ball watching a couple of times, no rash challenges-- a good 7 out of 10

Anton: Fair, went missing a couple of times.

true not as good as he has been...

Gabbidon; Excellent as always

He was immense today..all over the park at least three totally last ditch interceptions

Konch: excellent

he was ok--looked a bit timid--didnt get forward much IMHO

Yossi; looked to be struggling after his knock but gave his all.

never really seemed to settle, and yes, he was very slow after the tackle....

Mullins; covering for Cocker most of the game

YES-when will people stop knocking him FFS?!@

Reo Cocker: If he ever learns one touch football he'll be phenominal. Very poor today held onto the ball too much

He was good in parts, but he was also very guilty of trying too much in the wrong parts of the field

Bellion; no heart bottled most of the time, thats the problem with on loan players

All my fears were realised..... crap!

Harewood; I am not a racist but am fast becoming one, the man' s first touch is abysmal, he is a very average league one footballer. All this crap about he gives 100% , so do I but I can't play football either. Pardew must be shagging him.

Got nowt to do with bein g racist mate, he just looked a chumpionship player....wasnt hepled by balls being pinged at his head at 120 miles an hour, but we need something better than that....

Etherington; why bother

you know its not even his inability to really deliver anythin g that worries me about Matty, its his complete lack of disciplne in covering/tackling back...he had the job of marking Gerrad at one corner-and he was like 10 yards offf him until Gabs told him to pull his ****ing finger out...
I toiught Alliadiere showed some promise, then faded, and it was good to see Collins get a run out.....

Overall, we could have gone down 4 nil, but at the same time, we could have snaffled a point....we were hopless at second phase balls today-they must have got 80% of their possession that way....there was a real lack of cohesion between midfiled and the front one/two today.....

As for liverpool, they look like they had just met up in the changing rooms---Cisse was just diabolical! We'll never have a better chance to get the win, but i'll be back next year...

away support was magnificent....we were ALL there at the end, to a stand redndition of b ubbles....as for the anfield roar....didnt hear it once....and if being a liverpool fan is about putting your hand up and shouting five, well, ......

song(s) of the day

" Has Wayne Rooney shagged your mum/nan... Has Wayne Rooney shagged your nan..?!"."

p.s. I know Green Street is not exactly Mayfair, but jessus, the area around Anfiled is like ****ing Beiruit.......dirty norther scouse bastards the lot of em...

Can't really complain too much about losing 2-0 to Liverpool although it should have been by more their finishing was awful..

It seems that the team have lost a bit of confidence and drive. Thought Reo-Coker, Shaka, Gabbidon, Knochesky and Ferdinand did well but the rest weren't up to much.

Just returned from the pub (which was full of moaning Liverpool fans no_no ).

It was one of those games in which you just know there's no way we're going get anything out of. Marlon was non existent, Bellion couldn't perform the Teddy-style role of linking up the play up front, Matty had another poor match on the left (seems like he doesn't have a drop of confidence left in him, looks like the absolute opposite of the Matty who run Ipswich around in the playoffs) and Yossi probably had his worst match since he signed.

Reo-Coker (his back heel could have been goal of the season) and Mullins had a decent match in the middle of the park considering the fact they had to deal with Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso. But the only one who really performed well was good old Shaka with a couple of world class saves.

The result itself isn't too disappointing as it's Liverpool away, but I think that in their current form, and with a bit more self belief and adventures tactics, we could have done much better. Today was a perfect opportunity to beat them when they're down and instead we rolled over a died for them to boost up their confidence, which is an alarming sign.

Anyhow, now we have to bounce back vs West Brom next week, which is without a doubt a much more important match for us.

Yes - if you're somehow 'blaming' him for our defeat.

I thought Tom had a very decent game. The fact that he got a slight touch on their first goal in a crowded area was just unlucky.

If you're looking to point fingers, you could mention Aliadiere and Gabbers (who otherwise had a great game) for their second - but that would be churlish. You might also have noticed that they scored their second - down the right - just after Tom went off.

We didn't lose because of Tom's or anyone else's individual mistakes, but due to collective failure. The match stats show that while posession was only 51% - 49% in their favour, shots on goal were 15 - 3!

Can't see what all the fuss about Bellion is about. Watched him play for the stiffs against Chelsea, and he was utter poo. Waste of space IMHO.

Exactly.............At the start of the season would anyone have expected us to win (or draw) there?

WBA at home next week is far more important to us.

Sorry but I thought we were tactically inept.....

The midfield centre pairing soes not work - at times Pool just strolled through. Mullins plays far too deep to be effective and to support Reo-Coker. We were 2nd to ever single ball, Etherington - well just plain WHY?

Why take off Bellion and then bring Clarke on as a striker about 5 minutes later (unless Bellion was struggling for fitness) as I thought pace wise our forward line look fairly intimidating.

Yossi ran his legs off - the only fella I know that challenges for every single ball that goes within 5 foot of him - be it on the ground or in the air.

Defence looked ok but sometimes Anton and Gabbidon rely on pace far too much.

Old Ted - did he touch the ball?

Anfield - **** fans - where was the famous Kop - atmosphere terrible - thought we outsung them all game.

And Geren Street looks like Mayfair in comparison....buying beer through a window

thoroughly enjoyed my first experience at Anfield just a shame that the coach I was on decided to get a flat tyre at warwick services, and while the other 5 coaches pi**ed off up the m6, we had to wait around 40mins for it to get repaired. Luckily though we got to Anfield at 2.57

When they started all the 5hand signs because of the europe. Then we started to sing world cup we won the f*ckin world cup shut them up. All i can say is i had a top day out shame about the score.
