Shoulda been 3-0 up at half time, but to be fair the Baggies had the better of the second half. Thank GOD for Kamara. He missed two sitters for them. All praise Kamara!
Ratings:
Hislop-8 Good saves, very solid
Konchesky-9 MOTM Deserves an England call up, fantastic again
Ferdinand-7 Good but beaten sometimes by Earnshaw
Gabbidon-8 Excellent
Repka-7 Very good, especially in the second half. A few bizarre decisions though...
Etherington-6 Better, but still not the old Matty
Mullins-7 Good, didn't dominate midfield but played well. Missed a great chance
Reo-Coker-6 Played pretty well first half. Must have been injured...
Benayoun-7 Always dangerous.
Harewood-8 Fantastic work rate, just wish he took more of his chances...
Sheringham-8 Cool finish for the goal and unlucky not to get another
SUBS
Bywater-7 Came on and was good
Dailly-6 Set up the goal well, won some headers but gave away of lots of free-kicks
Newton-6 No time
This was a HUGE win for us, by far the biggest of the season. Am delighted, and now off to see the fireworks.
IRONSSS!!!

Agree with dodgers ratings, but thought Mullins had a blinder today, apart from missing the chance his passing was good and did the simple things well.
Also, doesn't kids for a quid do your head in when theres a 15 year old chav behind you saying 'oh that konchesky is sooooo fit' every 5 minutes during the 1st half

You are SO TRUE. Pardew has addressed this problem and is why we are in the position we are in now. Just think where we would be with a goal scorer :shock:movieweb wrote:A must-win we did win. Job done. Three very important points.
But it was pretty uninspiring, scrappy stuff. As one of the commentators said a little while after we scored, "West Ham are making heavy weather of this."
Still, in days past, we'd have given up the equalizer, or worse. Well done, lads.

another pleasant day being a hammer, our defence looks like being the difference this season as another 1 goal win cements our place again in the top 10, lets hope our back 4 all stay fit and sharpD&G wrote: You are SO TRUE. If it was a Chav, not a Chavette, then I agree .

just
just back..very happy to have 3 points in the bag...jeez did we make hard work of that?!?!
We should have been 4 up after about 20 m ins, but let them creep back in..they are rubbish...horrible side, dont think I saw anything abou t them that was anything other than ping, flick boot all day long! Having said that, we got dragged into it, and they could have nicked a very lucky draw!
MOTM probably konch...Anton looked good, thought teddy and marlon looked like a couple of strangers...we've got lots of work to do, but 18 points in the bag, i shud stop moning and enjoy it...
Shakah semmed to get a boot in the head, came off a bit later--sure he'll be ok...NRC took a big knock, then later on, again a heavy challenge....Id be very surprised if either of them are serious tho...
jeez some of the chances we blew today yossi, teddi, anton marlon ,marlon...shall i go on!?!?!?
COME ON U IRONS!!!

blimey I didn't think we where great at all today but still miles better team than them, they could have got an equaliser at the end but if Bryan Robson reckons that was an excellent performance by his team then they should have him out as soon as possible!
Far from our best but still too much class for WBA…

Thought we were by far the better team in the first half. They had a couple of decent chances but we had several clear attempts and a series of near efforts. Two goals ahead at half-time would have been right.
Second half had me having nightmares that we were back in the Champ. Memories of the 0:1 defeat to the Baggies (albeit that was in the Prem) loomed large.
Teddy's goal was very welcome but we then sat back and tried to defend for a very long period with little controlled possession, just belting it downfield.
Why is it that, apart from Villa, we seem to lose confidence when we go ahead? Surely the heads of the away team should drop when they go behind? But it was ever thus
3:0 and you f*cked it up - best chant from the Baggies. Which brought on more nightmares - even if we got three up would we hold on? Ahhhhh..........

I think that Konch, Danny Anton and Hayden are fast settling into a mean little defensive unit - again today they all had good games, even a couple of Antons 50 yard passes (or were they punts?) paid off. Would like to see Mullins get forward a bit more as he can link the play with the lads at the front and give us another option ....
...as for Marlene - he's good at running but doesn't appear to have that strikers instinct - but hey, we're not doing too bad at the moment, so why change it if it ain't broke!!

that was the only chant from the baggies and it happened only once!3:0 and you f*cked it up - best chant from the Baggies. Which brought on more nightmares - even if we got three up would we hold on?
myself and the other lads in the centenary lower terrorised their support much of the game - also a big mention to 'big nose' in the baggies support who got an awful amount of punishment from much of the centenary lower throughout the game  was funny though!
