Charlton Ath 2 West Ham Utd 0 (31/12/05)

Post by SL »

How will we line-up after the Wigan performance ?

Surely we wont see Dailly at right back again ?

Surely we wont see Bellion at right mid again ?

---------------------------------Carrol-------------------------------

Newton------------Anton---------------Collins------------Konch

Reo-Coker--------Fletcher-------------Mullins------------Ethers

---------------------Bobby--------------Harewood----------------

Fingers crossed we see a reaction from the boys and can nick 3 points.

Im going for 2-1 to us. 1 each for Bobby and Marlon.

COME ON YOU IRONS !!!!!!!!!!

I heard a whisper last night Benayoun MAY be passed fit - unsure if it's kosher but if so I expect the line-up to be as follows:

GK Carroll
RB Dailly/Newton (think Pards will prefer CD, I'd prefer SN)
LB Konchesky
CB Anton
CB Collins
RM Benayoun/NRC
LM Etherington
CM Mullins
CM NRC/Benayoun
ST Harewood
ST Zamora/Aliadiere

Think we'll lose 1-0, that way it'll feel even better if we win!

How long are Benayoun,Gabbidon,Sheringham,Repka all out for?
I think we'll see this:

------------------------Carroll--------------------
--Newton-Anton---------Collins------Konch--
--------------------Fletcher----------------------
-------------Reo-Coker---Mullins---------------
-------Harewood---------------------Etherington
--------------------------Zamora------------------

Tricky one this.

Definitely think we have the beating of Charlton but seeing as our confidence took a hammering last night and the Valley is another place we hardly get anything from then I would happily take a draw.

My team.

Carroll

Dailly
Ferdinand
Collins
Konchesky

Newton
Fletcher
Mullins
Etherington

Harewood
Zamora

Can't agree with SL about playing Newton at right back. Did well once last seaon but unfortunatley Dailly is the best available option. Also Reo on the right side of midfiled won't work either. I like Newton out there and think he deserves to start agianst his old club.

Would give Reo more time to recover fully from his injury by putting him on the bench.

Not sure why but fancy Etherington to have a good game against Young

Dailly is NOT the best option at right back. After last night I hope I never see him play there ever again. Newton at least has some idea about going forward - he has to play on Saturday

Ok just read the other replies,

if Yossi is fit, I would play him instead of Zamora. Not saying Bobby has done anything wrong just think we can get after Charlton down the flanks with Etherington and Newton.

Without Yossi - 1-2 loss

With him - 2-1 win

We need his creativity, that way players like Reo-Coker dont have to get forward as much, leaving the muggings on his own in the middle.

Not confident about this game, but if we can get one or teo players back in time we can turn these muppets over

Anyone who would put Dailly back at right back after last nights game must be crazy.

That was possibly the worst display ive ever seen in my life from a "professional footballer".

Dailly is not the best option for right back. My gran's available, she could move quicker.

Maybe so, but Chorlton are quite a physical side, dangerous from set pieces. For all Dailly's faults he is okay at defending and attacking corners etc.

Granted he offers no overlapping or distribution qualities but I know who I would rather have at the back post against Hereidersson. If Newton plays at right back, expect a lot of high balls aimed at him.

We must have a young Right Back in the youth squad? On a serious note, he would be better than Dailly, probably quicker aswell, why not try a youngster out?

Jemel Henry in the Youths/Reserves is NOT ready, IMHO. Got Trent McLenehan but isn't he still out on loan (and what kind of performances has he been turning in?)?

Would be suicidal to play either of those two in my mind, I'm afraid.
