random thoughts.

the table does lie, there is no way birmingham are one of the top 19 teams in the PL.

ashton is ok and i am certainly not going to criticize... his goalscoring record is great in what is still very early days. but if he is worth 7m then harewood is a 10-15m player.

prediction: ashton will never have that priceless half a yard, but i reckon by april pardew'll have him a lot leaner and sharper.

i have not been that bored at a game for ages. makes me wonder how chelsea fans cope. we really didn't play well, but i wasn't worried one bit (and i'm the sort of pessimist who thinks west brom, wimbledon on the rare occasions we go 3 - 0 up). honest, i'm not complaining, but while at times we looked very lively (especially early on), for a lot of the game we were way off the pace, sloppy and careless.

i trust pardew is happy for the boys to rest for the last 75 minutes to help us get ready for bolton.

Marlon? Frustrating???? I really don't know what game some of you were watching!!

Both he and Ashton ran their defence ragged. It would've been interesting to see how ground Marlon covered tonight. He was superb!! Covered all over the pitch and didn't stop running.

Thought Marlon had a good game too.

Though i a little pee'd with Ashton for scoring as i had a nice ton coming in until he scored

Oh well, 3 points again. Off to bolton we go...

Well, considering that Bolton has two games in hand I'd say we're closer to 7th. I bloody hate how nowadays not all teams have played the same amount of games. But who would have thought.... Europe might become reality!

No matter what, Marlon is always going to have people on his back.

Jesus you would think he cost us £10m and had ben ***** all season with some of the stick he gets.

Some people just wont change their opinion on him even though he has grately improved over the last few seasons.

£500k, what a ****ing bargain!

harewood n ashton for me looked like they had played in that division for years. i was impressed with ashton as i didnt think he looked all that mobile against sunderland but work his socks off for us tonight.

cant belive people are slagging of marlon. i thought he worked his nuts off and as stated above 500k..... pards must have been laughing when he palled that off!!!!!!

however hate to burst anyones bubble but imo we wont make europe with out entering the inter toto cup. nothing other than the fact we have played more games han anyone else if not the same.

Watched on telly tonight, so can't give as good as who was there, but.. thought Marlon was excellent today ran after everything and fully deserved his 2 goals. Was man of the match for me. Etherington a close second, what has happened to him lately?! But as a whole thought the whole team played superbly tonight, again. There were some periods of one touch passing that was a joy to watch and again it was clear everyone was working for each other. Hope Haydens alright.

And quality to get one over Steve Bruce. I seem to remember when we played them when we went down there were a couple on here larging it (scooby rings a bell), wonder where they are now? :D
