From Peter Grant's diary in Sweden on the O/S:
"It was nice to get the tour off to a winning start against Trollhattan on Thursday evening but, from our point of view, the biggest positive was that we came through the first game without any muscle strains or worrying injuries, and that has much to do with the excellent condition that the players returned for pre-season in.
"Christian Dailly picked up a rib injury after being accidentally clattered by Stephen Bywater in the very first minute but, typical of Christian, he carried on to play the full 90 minutes and, although he was quite sore afterwards, it shouldn't cause him any long term problems.
"Other than that, everyone was fine, and despite Trollhattan not being very strong technically, they were a very fit side and quite physical at times, so it was a good work-out for us.
"The boys then had a double session yesterday (Friday) and I must say, they all worked incredibly hard. It can sometimes be difficult to motivate the players for training the day after the game, but their attitude was once again first class, and they all worked their socks off.
"In the morning, we headed down to the stadium again and, after a short warm-up, the guys did some very intense running, with those who hadn't played the night before doing a bit more than the others.
"After lunch, we headed down to the gym and the boys did two more work-outs - a core session and a weights and box-ercise class. Again, they all worked extremely hard, but our fitness coach Alex Dyer also adds a bit of fun in with his dance routines while working, so the lads actually enjoy it and don't see it as a slog.
"Later in the afternoon, it was time to relax and have a bit of fun, so we arranged a trip to a local go-kart track, where we had a race tournament that Bobby Zamora eventually won. It was a chance for them to let their hair down and enjoy a bit of banter - the competitive nature was on display of course!
"They deserve the chance to. We've always had a policy of treating the players as adults, and they respond to that in the right way. Not one of them has caused a single problem since we have been out here, and it's to their great credit that we are always invited back here with genuine sincerity.
"Today we head off to the town of Kungsbacka to play against Gothenburg, who will provide a step up in quality in terms of their technical quality. At this stage, though, the priority is still the fitness development of the players, and we will be looking for them to show that little bit more improvement each time we play.
"The guys who missed out on Thursday will all start today, and we will continue to mix it up, monitoring the condition of each player and making sure they all perform and work to their individual requirement."
Not sure what the complete squad is that we have available to us there, but apparantly whoever IS there and didn't start the other game will be starting today. Sounds like they've been working their b*ll*cks off though dunnit?
