There was an article in Italy earlier today where he is said to have indicated that he would be happy to go to Sampdoria.

Football london were also claiming that we would let Oxford go if a £10m offer came in - allegedly their source rather than a rehash.

As much as i would hate to see certain players leave if a top player / cult hero were to depart its who we get in to replace them.

I was gutted to see Rio go , we could have got Sourhgate and Ehiogu we didnt.

Would still like to see some steel in midfiled and poss another centreback, that and a striker (super mario)

All quiet from the ITK’s (Ironmike aside who has us in for about 5 or 6 led with Laxalt and Vida - hope we sign neither of those)

Wonder if the lack of updates is a sign of not much going on....

I’d say it’s pretty clear that we have done our spending now. If we get anyone else it will be a loan which will probably be nearer the end of the window I would imagine.

We need a proven goal scorer to cover Carroll. I’m hoping we buy Danny wellbeck outright personally who is a available for about 13 million I think. He would be a good player for us.

Yup! Probably a late loan but that's about it.

Think MP said we're only looking at a back up striker, so he must reckon that Chicharito is staying.

13M - even at these days prices is a lot for a back striker as I reckon we're still short a DM. We found out that when Obiang was out for a long time, we had no one else......

It certainly isn't Noble, Wilshire or Kouyate. imvho we're still in need..

would rather we spent money in that area than another forward who struggles to stay fit....

I'd expect some outgoings (up to 6) followed by three arrivals.

We're miles short at CB/CM unless Balbuena is marvellous.

Are we? We've just signed two centre halves and haven't sold any. We're likely going back to playing two instead of three.

Now whether you think the two we've brought in are any good is a different debate.

Centre mid we definitely need another top quality player, preferably one with the positional sense to play deeper.

There was a lot of talk about £20m bids for Masuaku mid last season. If we’re defo going 4 at the back then i’d bite someone’s arm off for that to avoid the temptation to play him left back

The problem is CB and CM - the full backs don't need to be great defensively if the 4 at CB/CM are good defenders - they are the back 4 in a Mourinho/Pochettino like 4231.

Ours aren't good enough. We have quantity, we don't have enough quality.

I totally agree except in respect to him covering Carroll. He has been a non factor to me for at least 18 mths and add to the fact he is in the count down to pissing off totally should not be more than 10% at most a factor to consider. And that is being super generous. We need to plan for the real future on the pitch not the real future in the private hospital suite.

As proved by our pretty much 1st Team against Preston. We can’t go into PL games needing at least 3 goals to win a game.

I think Pellegrini already knows who else is coming in (Rafinha Loan?) - they will be just waiting to get a few off the books first.

Yeah but then after we sign Welbeck we will need to buy a proven goal scorer to cover Carroll and Welbeck!

Max Meyer on a free anyone? Don't necessary need him with Wilshere and Anderson, apparently has an attitude problem etc. but wouldn't mind seeing him here.

Oddly sad to see Joe Hart pretty much begging for a transfer and their seemingly being no takers.

Can anyone think of a player who has gone from being a multiple title winner and a national number one player to unwanted in two years? Maybe you could say Rooney but at 31 Hart should be at his peak.

I would take Max Meyer - yes he wants big wages but being on a free negates to some extent.

Bernard is a similar proposition.

In terms of style last season he was a much better version of Noble, plus at 22 has a much higher ceiling.

Against lower half teams a midfield three of Meyer, Wilshire, Noble should have 65%+ possession. Throw Arnie, Anderson, Yarmolenko ahead of them and fireworks.

There's a good argument the key to 7th is consistently beating up lower table teams.

Arsenal spent years coming 4th by reliably picking up 6 points from teams 8-18.
