league table next season (Poll)
Perhaps it's to do with the growth of the internet as a means of meeting more west ham fans and more views being shared but expectations for next season are the most diverse that I can ever remember. There seems to be those that think we will get everyone fit next season and push for top six whilst others liken this season to 2003 where a lack of investment and a season with key players injured could see us back in a relegation battle.
Any chance of a poll to see how spread this forum is on where we will finish next season?

9th for me would be superb, especially with Blackburn likely to go backwards rather than forwards now..

Re: league table next season
With a fully fit squad 5th isn't impossible
No lower than 15th given reasonable fitness
If we sell the fit squad players, dont replace them and then have a similar run of injuries to this year (or alternatively if Upson alone goes missing most of the season) a relegation battle may loom.
I reasonably hope for a challenge for 7th.

Re: league table next season
Sadly i think we will probably have a season similar to this one - finishing 10th/11th and drab football.
If blackburn slip down the table then at least one of Newcastle and Spurs will replace them.
There are a few good things that may occur - finally seeing the Ashton / Bellamy partnership, seeing the Kids like Tomkins, Sears and Collison develop, maybe a good cup run, less injuries.... however, i am now getting deja vu from last summer.

Re: league table next season
i think 6 is about right, so long as we can keep the injuries down and start playing football!

Re: league table next season
It's too early to say really. Until we know roughly what our squad will be, it's hard to really take a decent guess
But any improvement on 10th, would be, well, an improvement. And anything below 10th would be, well, taking steps backwards!
TBH, if we finish top half, that will do me. Established in the top half is surely our aim, and some decent football, and less injuries would be an improvement
So, if pushed, I'd go for 8th, but with the disclaimer that a lot can change before the season starts

Re: league table next season
I'd like to see us mounting a challenge for Europe but I have a horrible feeling we're going the be closer to the bottom 6 than the top 6. Still, lets see what magic Mr Nani can weave.
Re: league table next season
I'd settle now for anything above the relegation zone and I'm afraid chaps that is the way it is in today's Premier League
As for the rest
1st Man U
2nd Chelsea
3rd Liverpool
4th Arsenal
5th Tottenham
6th Everton
Mid table who cares
18th Sunderland
19th Stoke City
20th Hull City

I don't think it's fair to blame him if we finish 16th next year, would you ???Metal Hammer wrote:I'd like to see us mounting a challenge for Europe but I have a horrible feeling we're going the be closer to the bottom 6 than the top 6. Still, lets see what magic Mr Nani can weave.

Exactly what I'm thinking. There's already been a fair amount of change, and we've only just starteddapablo wrote:probably an idea to wait and see who signs for who and whom manages whom.
I mean people have been posting where they think Chelski will finish. How can anyone really guess. I mean they might bring in an excellent manager who adds a few key signings to what they already have, making them unstoppable (heaven forbid!)
Or, they may get some over-rated manager, lose Lampard, Terry & Drogba to Mourinho's Inter, replace them with foreign players who fail to adapt to the PL, and struggle to get in the top 4 (we can but hope!)

Re: league table next season
Should be (in no particular order)
Man U/ Chelsea/ Liverpool/Arsenal
With Villa/Pompey/Everton/Tottenham
Then us/Newcastle/Blackburn/Citeh poss even Boro/Sunlun/any others battling for midtable mediocrity.
I got no problem finishing 8-13th as that is our place in the food chain. Hopefully, we just see some exciting football this time.
