Brilliant pictures Steve brings back all kinds of happy memories.

Trouble is.... I never did take any pictures in the good old days so I have to rely on CH and Co for them! I do have a couple from the 1980 cup final gathering outside East Ham Town Hall somewhere... Will try and find them.

Cheers for these great pictures Steve, once it became all seater the old place was never quite the same, but those old days when the run and south bank were rocking we’re just magical.

I’m another one who loved the West Side in the early eighties before it went seated. You always got a slightly older crowd in there as there were no kids prices, unlike the North and South Banks.

It always seemed dark in there, and my memory is probably playing tricks, but the roof seemed so low you could almost touch it. It generated a great atmosphere around that time, never forget the League Cup game against Spurs in 80/81, one of my favourite ever nights.

was the first place u ever stood on a home made box when my dad first took me to west ham for some reason the stench of the west side bogs still lives on
