You are of course superbly correct.
It was a regular thing, the done thing, that one or more players would squat down just before kick off and have their photo taken individually by a specific photographer.
Many photos in Shoot/Match involved this sort of pose.............I'm only sad I wasn't the one to notice their disappearance from the game.
Great night for me as I was mascot.
Billy Bonds tooted us up as we walked through the back streets to my brother's home in Plaistow.
Ray Stewart was fantastic to me on the night, really looked out for me.

Cheers UTJ for the link, some great photos there and memories of a bygone age. To see the Kop as it once was, not to mention The Valley with more fans on one terrace than they get in the entire ground now but my favourite has to be one that pops up on this thread from time to time with our fans crammed onto the rooftop of the flats behind the North Bank for the FA Cup replay vs Hereford, a wonderful sight.
