Re: KUMB.com October Player of the Month
There is no point having this thread open. Not one player has played to their ability this month other than Carlton. Well played son
I wouldnt even want to think of the **** we would be in without him!!

As many active members as there are on here I can't believe so few votes have been cast.
Cannot be many season ticket holders or people who go to away games then..

Carlton for HOTM is a foregone conclusion. I just pray he's in contention for HOTM for February

No contest... from a low at Wigan to two or three truly outstanding performances.

Have voted for Cole every month so far this season.
Just wish the rest of the team could match his endeavour on the pitch as the rest of em so far (barring Behrami) have been ****.

I love Carlton Cole, I gave him some major stick in the past but he's become a true hero amongst a team of at times gutless individuals.
Come on King Cole, you're the new Carlitos.

Re: KUMB.com October Player of the Month
I've wondered that myself. Cole has instantly improved the England team each time he's been introduced. It seems even more obvious when it is a direct swap for Heskey, how much more Cole brings to the sidethe pink palermo wrote: Not so sure actually .FWIW I think he is certain of Cole , less so Heskey and keeps playing him to double check .Capello is obsessed with ensuring Rooney has the right partner , and will take both Heskey and Cole to the WC .
I expect Cole to be in the starting line up for the opener .
On merit as well .
I wonder if Capello is trying to keep an ace up his sleeve. Don't play Cole too much, don't show his hand too much, so come the WC, Cole will be much more of an unknown quantity for our opponents
It could be a brilliant plan. Not only does Cole become the dark horse of the England team, it also keeps his profile lower, so there's a greater chance of him staying with us beyond january.
Or is that really clutching at straws?

This has to be the most one sided vote for a while, surely?

Pretty sure Sadam Hussein got 101% of the vote in Iraq once.sendô wrote:This has to be the most one sided vote for a while, surely?
Re: KUMB.com October Player of the Month
I think this could be a lot of truth in this suggestion. It's certainly something that has happened in previous World Cups and European Championships. I remember in 2006, thinking that Eriksson would have been better off taking Ashton or Harewood than Walcott, as they were in good form and would have been a real surprise to people. Walcott, on the other hand, was a suprise selection to the extent that some Arsenal fans probably didn't even know he played for them!Hambrosia Stu wrote:I've wondered that myself. Cole deservedly gets the plaudits , but I voted for Diamanti for his influence in getting the draw against Arsenal , which was the turning point in our season thus far .

I remember being slated for having this avatar a year or two ago .
Glad he's finally settled down and showing his class. Can see offers from the likes of Liverpool and Tossenham if they both have the money.
