Never understand though why we played in red, white and blue though. St George's Cross - no blue. But did like the blue and red across the chest.

Like all white (maybe a hint of red) and the 66 winners kit.

The Liverpool kits, particularly the away, are a disgrace to the game.

I, with no skills in the field whatsoever, could sew them, using charity shop materials, a better kit than that.

Seriously, that cannot be. The two away kits look like the horrific throwbacks to numerous kits of the early 90's.

Boring... How many fake Liverpool kits were posted in very similar designs than these three this time last year?

Blackburn Rovers switch to Nike
Image
Blackburn Rovers are the latest team to switch from Umbro to Nike as they have officially announced their new partnership with the US manufacturer. The new deal with Nike will start from the 2013/14 season.

Umbro’s relationship with Blackburn Rovers started in 2007 and thus will come to an end after 7 years. All kit, training wear and related products will now be manufactured by Nike.

Greg Coar, Rovers’ Head of Commercial and Marketing, said: “We are delighted to confirm that Rovers are set to start a new partnership with Nike. We are certain that our supporters will be excited by this new partnership and will be looking forward to seeing the iconic blue-and-white halves and the world famous Nike brand on our kits this summer.”

Gareth Hosford, GM Nike UK Football, said: “We are delighted to add Blackburn Rovers to the Nike football family. We look forward to building on the successful partnership the club has already enjoyed with Umbro and working closely with the club and the fans over the coming seasons.”

Liverpool Swap To Charity Sponsor For West Brom Match
Image

For only the second time in their history on Monday night Liverpool wore the logo of a charity on the front of their shirt. Just as they did for their last home game of the 11/12 Premier League season, the Standard Chartered logo was replaced by Seeing is Believing, which is Standard Chartered’s global charitable initiative aimed at tackling avoidable blindness in developing countries.

The players match worn limited edition shirts will be auctioned to raise money and every pound raised will be match by Standard Chartered. After the Chelsea game last season where they did the same thing £86,700 was raised for Seeing is Believing.

Managing Director of Liverpool Ian Ayre said: “We’re once again proud to display the Seeing is Believing logo on our home shirt. Since Standard Chartered became the club’s shirt sponsor, we’ve worked closely with them to raise awareness for Seeing is Believing, both in the developing world and here in the UK. It’s a fantastic initiative and we hope to raise as much as possible from the shirts to cure avoidable blindness in developing countries.”

Chairman of Seeing is Believing and Group Finance Director at Standard Chartered Richard Meddings said of the initative: “The support and interest in the logo switch shown by the club’s fans was far beyond anything we’d anticipated and we are very grateful to them. It would be great if we could raise another large sum for Seeing is Believing this time, particularly since every pound raised will be matched by Standard Chartered, doubling the benefit.”

I hate to admit it but the more I look at Liverpools shirt the more I like it, such a simple and classy design.
