We can read and write. I suspect some of our fanbase don't even have opposing thumbs.

well not everyone can read / write.

I think there is a section of our support that is at best ambivalent towards our black players. As soon as things arent going right, theyre on their backs. I remember last time we went up, where I was sittng there were a group of "fans" the ringleader being a woman in her 50s-60s, with her family, shouting the most horrible abuse at Marlon saying how poor he was/didnt try etc. Villa match it was.

I don't care that his head sometimes steams, he makes some lolz on twitter or if he makes up his own language.

I do care about west ham and what's best for the club and playing this clown up front makes my ears steam, provides lolz of disbelief and coaxes the most filthy of language to pass my lips.

On the wage cut thing, say he went from 50k to 25k he saved the club around £1M, however he cost us what 10 times that in transfer income according to an accredited "itk" on here.

He should have been forced out of the club and told moving to stoke was essential to the future of the club.

His pitiful goal tally was matched by Darius Henderson ffs. In the second division. You know why that league is so "competitive"? Every team is ****ing **** that's why and he scored the same amount of goals as a player for ****ing millwall.

:thdn:

What's all this about then? Pitiful goal tally? He was the clubs top scorer last season. Tell him move to Stoke? Do you see any other strikers queuing up to join us at this very moment who could do a better job than Carlton? Also did he not play the last quarter of the season whilst carrying a slight injury?

I'd rather have a player like Carlton Cole playing for West Ham than some overatted Geordie gob ***** who didn't want to play for us. I hope Cole turns up trumps this year to shut some of the so called fans we have on this site

I we get Jarvis or Johnson putting crosses onto his head, he'll get 15+ I reckon. He's never had anyone capable of putting the right balls in for him.

If he goes on to play for us until he's 33 and retires, never becoming brilliant, but staying the same, how will he be classed in the eyes of west ham fans?

legend? icon? or just a long serving player who worked hard but was never that good?

Love the guy. Top fella and gives his all to our football club. That photo of his arms outspread with the fans jumping in the background after Vaz Te scored the winner is now 'iconic' in West Ham folklore.
What a moment captured on camera when Carlton is celebrating in the same way as we all did. Magical.

Agree with both comments - especially 2nd one. Would love us to sign Johnson. Bit gutted we never got Snodgrass but I am sure we will get a winger from somewhere

Katie. All or contribution to this forum revolves around you bitching and moaning about Carlton. Why don't you change the tune? It's boring.

Apart from the post telling us she spent the second half of one game fingering herself in the bogs.
A big debate ensued as to whether she is in fact a bloke on a wind up.

I see that Mr Dean closely adhered to the Premiership referee's Carlton Cole rule.

If Carlton wins the ball, no matter how cleanly. It is a foul.
If Carlton loses the ball, no matter how violently. Play on.

Simple.

That is also known as the "Peter Crouch" rule, poor bloke never stands a chance in an England shirt, foreign refs have never seen a player of his stature before and don't know how to referee him.
Sometimes cole is too honest for his own good, if he was a snidey little foreign dive monkey and continually threw himself to the floor writhing around in agony every tackle he would win a lot more free kicks, but i would rather have him being honest than have a cheat playing for us

A lot gets said about carton, soi will add my two penneths

He has the body language of a man who doesn't give a monkeys, but this geezer gives his all every game...200%

He tweets about us, he doesn't hide, he doesn't moan about the grief he's had, and he loves our club...I mean absolutely loves it.

This bloke took a 50% pay cut when we went down...he didn't have to, he accepted it, and I appreciate he was still on decent coin, but what an amazing thing to do....you only have to look at the Pompey players who are taking every penny from a club on its arse to see what most footballers are about

Carlton is a gem...and on top of all that, I think he's a top player...villa kicked lumps out of him, and at times had 2 men on him...

He may not be a plaistow or canning town boy, but he's one of ours
