That's exactly it.
He received the ball in absolutely acres of space and only really needed to make the simple choice of playing someone in.
I'm not taking loads away from him cos he played ok, just that by creating an 'assist' or 3, it doesn't truly represent how well someone played.

Do you think that the West Ham of two seasons ago could have afforded the luxury of the kind of player Diamanti purports to be? The West Ham that Di Canio played for (along with the Sheff Wed/Celtic sides) was full of good players. Balotelli plays in a very good side alongside (but less regularly than) James Milner. So clearly that idiot Mancini has the problem you allude to...... There is a pattern emerging with Diamanti though, for sure. While he might be a technically good footballer, something seems to happen to the clubs he played at...... He played for Livorno - who got relegated - West Ham (almost relegated), Brescia (guess what guys....they got relegated) so he is basically the Nigel Quashie of Serie A....

He wouldn't of done, Mario was injured and suspended for quite a few games.

Two words.....Bernard Diomede Or Stephane Guivarch.......four words then. Both won the world cup, but utter, utter **** in the Premiership.

Conversely, quite a few Italian journos wanted him to start ahead of Cassano... His best asset is his first touch with that left peg. Not specifically so much in controlling the ball for himself but playing first time passes in all and any direction. Means you can break really quickly as they did to good effect in the second half....

Those journos probably thought Italy would be playing second fiddle to Germany though and need to play on the counter, rather than play a full part in the game as they did. To be honest I think it's a bit laughable that you'd start Diamanti ahead of Cassano, they're not in the same league really. Some journalists will say anything to get published.

Wasn't saying I agree with them. Cassano proved his worth in the first half and had a very good game....

How different is it to Noble corner against Southampton? Same outcome.

Saw a gap between the near post defender and the goalie and attempted to use the outside of his left peg to curl it in for a goal. Didn't work. Another time it may have caused problems. probably didn't warrant bumping this thread. I thought we may have had a decision from C.A.S. you fcuker

So as long as it's the same outcome there's no difference? Guess those goal of the months are going to have to stop!

Decent player takes bad corner shocker. Next in the series: Mark Noble.

That is a preposterously 'Did he take a bong hit at the corner flag?' stupid corner.
