Pretty dumb booking today. We were deep in their half and they'd barely looked a threat the rest of the game - no need to go swinging in when the cards get wiped next week.

I have to say as soon as I heard Nolan was suspended i thought it was good news for our team. I think he is one of our worst performing players at the moment and his slow tempo style has cost us dearly in recent weeks. I'm worried by how hard it is for us to score goals and i reckon we could find it a little easier without our captain on the pitch.
So, do we really need Kevin Nolan in our starting 11? I know he's a good leader, the lads seem to like him and he's a good influence to have in the dressing room but imo he should not be starting our every match. We should alter our formation a bit to accomodate different players, maybe try Diame-Nobl-Collison or even go for 4-4-2 if we can get another striker in January. If we stick to our current style of play i'm afraid we can only go backwards.

When he's scoring, he's great. But when he's not scoring, he doesn't do much else. We look a lot better going forward with Collison playing through the middle, actually have a bit of pace and urgency about our attacks, which Kev has never brought, but he does bring goals, usually. He's a fantastic captain and person to have around the club and I think he's a great player for us, but if he's not scoring, we shouldn't give him his guaranteed starting spot.

Like last year when we played without Nolan we had better edge and pace. No doubt. Can't he be the team's leader from the bench? At the moment I would like to see Collison in the middle together with Diame - when he is fit - and like Noble played today. Immense!

If collison recovers fully from his knee problem he is so our long term replacement for Mr Nolan

I think he does bring a lot to the team.. however rotation every now and again wouldnt go a miss

We was a lot more mobile today, then but on the flip side I would of fancied him to knock a goal in today with all them chances and he is a great captain, hard one to call.

Coped well without the skipper yesterday. A seat on the bench against Man ure wouldnt do him any harm IMO. Doubt it'll happen tho.

Do you think we nearly beat the best team in England with 10 men for 90 minutes?

He wasn't dreadful. His passing however, was dreadful on a number of occasions. You must have seen that?

His performances (Mainly goalscoring) have suffered since the loss of Carroll, he'll come good again.

About half way down that article. The picture of Nolan congratulating Collins.

The caption reads "The Hammers forced a replay after a 2-2 draw".

Just can't help themselves the Mail, can they?

Great captain but should he be undroppable ? :eh:

Im starting to think I'd like to see us give it a go without him in the starting 11

He needs to find his form that he had earlier in the season.I don't see any harm in giving him a few games off but BFS won't rest him.
