Re: The United Colours of West Ham
Two Slovenian were close to joining West Ham Utd... I feel like I need to share this as it's my home country!
I've been doing some performance analysis for Slovenian team Olimpija Ljubljana and had a brief talk with their GM - we made an enquiry about Dare Vrsic this time last year but never followed up after Olimpija wanted 2m Euros for him and we wouldn't go past £750,000.
Then in the Spring he agreed to join Austria Wien (for half of the price we offered - 500,000 Euros) and he also banged one in against us in preseason friendly. He hasn't played much since, out with knee injury but last year he has been terrific, setting the Slovenian league alight and also scored a wondergoal against Serbia in Euro qualifications: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In the summer of 2012 we invited Andraz Sporar for a trial but the club turned down that offer as they wanted to include him in first team preseason camp. He is an 18-year old striker, one of the brightest prospects around here... He also trained with Tottenham for a while and was offered a place in their academy two years ago but turned that down afaik.
Here's him with Twitchy:

Re: The United Colours of West Ham
Adrián San Miguel del Castillo. 4th Spaniard to play for West Ham
Răzvan Raț. 3rd Romanian to play for West Ham.
Sebastian Lletget could become our 5th American if he makes it from the bench today.
Complete list in the OP.

Check this article on West Ham's foreigners:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... ports.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's just those that played in the Premier League, but they have us down as having been represented by 2 Guineans. I have Titi Camara for one. Who's the other?

Potts had dual citizenship because he was born in the United States. He could be listed as American due to his being born in New England.LeonRivers wrote:Potts and Hines are English.

You're thinking Daniel, not Steve. There is no error when it comes to Steve. If you're born on American soil you have American citizenship, even if your parents were only vacationing in the country.LeonRivers wrote:Erroneously, IIRC.
Danny, on the other hand, was granted dual citizenship then had it revoked because his mother is English and his father claims his English citizenship, not his American one.

Re: The United Colours of West Ham
IIRC, the post you originally quoted was referring to Danny Potts. He had not long previously represented them at age level.Bury Me @ The Boleyn wrote: You're thinking Daniel, not Steve. Leon-
My mistake. I thought the person I was quoting was referencing Steve, not Danny. I apologize. You are correct that Danny's American citizenship was revoked, despite his playing on the US U20 team.
Steve, on the other hand, could be listed as one of the 5 Americans (making Lletget tentatively the 6th) to play for West Ham. Though it is certainly a technicality, Steve is absolutely an American citizen, in addition to being an English one.

Re: The United Colours of West Ham
Mladen Petric is West Ham's 4th Croatian, following Slaven Bilic, Igor Stimac and Davor Suker.

Re: The United Colours of West Ham
Seb Lletget's start today makes him the 5th American to represent West Ham at first team level.
Can you name the other four? (without cheating....)
