To be fair, without Dux we might not be here today. Zola was bloody awful though.

Without Dux, we wouldnt have had Zola.

Without Dux, we wouldnt be paying millions to Sheff United.

Without Dux, we wouldnt have seen the Project.

Without Dux, the very problems that he "solved" by selling a couple of players might never have happened.

Yes, the people at the very top ****ed up royally. BUT Duckers oversaw the signing of T&M, lied to the Premiership, and was our legal adviser throughout.

Without Dux, Kia might have taken over the club.......now there is a sliding door......

That bit I agree with - but we would probably have been in a much better place...

If Josef Fritzl saves you from Fred West's cellar, only to lock you up in HIS cellar, would he be less of a monster?

Ah - the year we lost established first team squad members such as Calum Davenport, James Collins, Lucas Neill, Lee Bowyer and Dean Ashton (for good).

Which followed a season in which we/Zola were forced to offload players such as Bobby Zamora, Anton Ferdinand, Craig Bellamy, Matthew Etherington, Hayden Mullins and George McCartney - not to mention decent back-ups such as John Pantsil and Freddie Ljungberg.

Still kept us up though, didn't he...

If he gets the Watford job I really hope he makes a huge success of it.

One of the genuine nice guys in football, I was very disappointed with our club in the way he was treated towards the end and with how they sacked him.

He deserved a lot better and I feel our "family club" reputation was slightly tarnished by that.

I wouldn't even compare Kia with either of those villains, let alone Duxbury, tbh, although I did chuckle at the analogy.

People slate Zola really need their heads tested we should NEVER have got rid of him for Grant and we only done so because we were paying him a ridiculous wage.

Zola according to the 'devil with tits' did insist we sign Benni McCarthy... you can't get em all right.

believe they both studied at the school of storrie so to speak PM

dux has the special claim of being qualified in law and accounts & finance yet spectacularly failed on both multiple times

ridsdale majored in finance disasters

both could have done with a wage/turnover chart on the wall and some crayons to improve their financial control

Zola sold Zamora, Ferdinand, Paintsil and McCartney?

Zola released Freddie?

The things you learn on here.....and from the boss too. I think he's had one bovril too many.

Those players never played for Zola. Its a sign of what a good squad we had that they we managed to get by, despite some shocking tactical decisions.

It was the following year, when Zola was allowed to decide what players came in that it went wrong in a big way.

Zola allowed defenders to leave and signed Italian based forwards.

Zola/Dux allowed Neill to leave (cos he wanted too much money) and brought Jiminez in on the same wages.

Zola wanted a 23 man squad.

Zola sold Mullins and allowed Bowyer a free transfer, and then signed Kovac.

Zola said we would finish 6th at least.

Zola signed Italian hero Diamanti, and played him at RM.

For the record, I'd have rather had Kia, dodgy as his money may be, at least its actual money.
