To be honest, if he's on £40k per week then he should be slogging his guts up during pre-season to get fit and ready. Letting him rot in the reserves doesn't do much for our ability to move him on.

At least, get him working in the clubshop. Make him earn his crust.

He is so frustrating. I think he could be one of our better players if he applied himself but theres no motivation or desire at all in that bloke

Agree, have said this so often about him. He has another year on his contract so will probably run it down and I doubt we'll get any money for him.

I'm probably going to get ripped apart for saying this but i thought on the last few times he played he was our best defender, when we had our backs against the wall, holding out for a draw or the win it was his head that was first to the ball at every corner or free-kick we defended, defending set pieces is obviously why Avram kept him in the team and why Allardyce persevered with him for so long when he first came here, he was in the team for his height and defensive heading capabilities, cant see why if he doesnt get a move away we cant get him motivated and on the bench to chuck on when we are defending a lead?
