I guess this means we'll be playing with Vaz Te & Maiga wide and Cole/Carroll through the middle

Hmmm.

Let's not get too carried away. Good signing, if true and if we can agree terms.

If this is a done deal do not underestimate the influence of Nolan in making it happen.

What's he earning at Liverpool? Any talk of them paying part his wage if he goes out on loan?

When this news came out last week about the bid going it it was mentioned we'll pay all of his £80K a week wages. How accurate that is I don't know.

I'm not gonna get excited till I see him run out in the claret and blue. A long, long, long er, long way to go before any deal is done. Hope it happens, not wanting to piss on anyones parade but theres much to do before it goes through.

Brilliant, seriously, the only person I would rather have seen leading the line this year is Didier Drogba.

Big guy, commanding in the air, perfect for the BFS system.

The more the story unfolds the less I like it!

'The deal for the England striker is with a view to a permanent transfer of £17m, providing West Ham United stay in the Premier League.

However, it is thought Carroll does not wish to leave Liverpool on a permanent basis.'

I don't want us paying 2m for the luxury of helping get a player from one of the big boys back on track before having him go back there, no way, wecan spend 2m elsewhere

I think this is a good deal if we can pull it off. For a 2 million fee I would expect Liverpool to pick up a % of his wages. Once he gets regular starts with us I think we can expect a finish of around 9th or 10th place and easily avoid another relegation battle. Big kudos to DS and DG if they manage this.
