Yes we will sell out. First game back in the premiership and with some good new signings on the field, will definately see to that!

First game of the season's always a bit hit & miss for attendance due to holidays etc. That said if we are down to under 4000 now I'd expect those to be sold

Very unlikely to sell out IMO - though the numbers in that article and what you can see on Box Office are massively different.

Probably around 33,500-34,000 ultimately.

Villa sites saying they've nearly sold their 3,000.

The tickets have been on general sale for ages - no sign of them flying off the shelves - masses available in the upper corners of the Rio.

Sorry to steal your topic but one question. My dad and brother are in London for New Year's Eve and I want them to take to match vs. Norwich on Jan 1. What are the possibilities of match going to general sale?

Only 4,000 tickets left!

See. People do buy tickets based on PR spin....

The match would definitely sell out if it was cheaper.

Really? I thought the game will sell out before general sale as it's Jan 1 - nobody's working etc. So it's quite the opposite, people rather spend first day of the new year someplace else than at the Boleyn?

Strange :)

After the expenditure of Christmas and New Year, people don't have the money to spend £30-£40 on a ticket, add on all the hangovers plus travel headaches, you find New Year games are generally easier to get tickets for.

Gutted I'm not making the trip up for this - I agreed to get my cousin into the shop for her first tattoo, only realising a few days later it clashes. Piss! Headbanger

While we're on the subject of our first home game, what do you lot think our line up will be, as it stands this is the line up for me..

----------------------Jussi---------------
--Demel---Tomkins---Collins---McCartney--
---------------------Diame--------------
-----------Noble------------------------------
--------------------------Nolan------------------
--Maiga-----------------------------Vaz Te--
-------------------Cole-------------------

Subs: Henderson, O'Brien, Taylor, Reid, O'Neil, Morrison, Maynard.

Based on no injuries I actually believe that will be how we will line up come 18th August. What about you lot?

I like that but I'd put in Henderson over Jussi. Jussi is a season or two at best so we might as well give Henderson a start as he is young.

There is no way Sam will put Henderson between the sticks before Jussi.
