Birmingham are without on-loan West Ham winger Robert Hall, who has been denied permission to play by his parent club.
is this standard operating procedure or should we read more into it?

Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13
As far as I know, it's common when it's not a full-season loan, to prevent the player being cup-tied.
Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13Hall's out on loan until 12 January, isn't he? So I think the club just wants to avoid any injury
Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13It's not to avoid injury. At the time we loaned Hall we were in terrible situation with injuries. We'd like to keep that option open in case we progress and Hall returns, simple as that. Birmingham really wanted him and were prepared to accept our terms.
Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13Paul McCallum on target again for AFC Wimbledon
Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13
I notice Stephen Henderson didn't even make the bench for Ipswich today. Unless his loan has ended already, I wonder if he is not allowed to play today.

Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13Henderson's loan ended about a week ago. He's back with West Ham.
Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13
Source? Can't find anything online other than a 3 month loan that started on the 16th October.
Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13Lets get Rob Hall back as well.We need as many of our fit players as possible with a very busy schedule coming up.Believe Hall can comeback as from saturday.
Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13
I'd say its probably not necessary now considering we have just signed 2 strikers, & have one coming back from injury in the next few weeks. Looking pretty solid in the wide positions as well at the moment, best to let him see out the season there & get some regular competitive action.
Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13Hall is getting valuable experience at Brum. We should let him stay there for a while longer, barring another injury crisis. Pointless bringing him back for the chance of an odd 15 mins here and there. He wouldn't even make the bench if everyone was fit.
Hopefully we can give him a couple of starts in April, assuming we're safe in mid-table.
Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13Glad to see further to my recommendation (!) above, Hall's loan has been extended until 16 Feb with a recall option, thereafter to be reviewed on a monthly basis.

They've come from a goal down.
Re: Hammers on Loan 2012/13Yep that's 4 goals in 3 or 4 games isn't it? Encouraging. Hope he bags a hat trick.
