Re: Harry RedknappBefore official appointment: "We didn't talk about the transfer budget."
After official appointment: "This team doesn't need any new signings, it's about getting the best out of current players." Less than a month later: "We are a couple of bodies short." & "Players here earn too much." Somebody make a book out of his quotes.
Re: Harry Redknapp
What he says is true but it's a very strange thing to say - from what you hear about QPR they were already having a lot of aggro between the new players (that Hughes brought in on big money!) and the existing players - they have had to bring in the PFA to mediate between the players. Harry's comments will undermine any team spirit even more!
Re: Harry RedknappI'm ****ing over the ****ing moon they lost today. That was a bad, bad, loss, whether they deserved to or not, in their position, that was still a bad result for them
Re: Harry RedknappHe has picked the wrong job here. He cannot keep them up. BwahahahaBwahahaha
Re: Harry RedknappHe's just a gold digger now. He'll take any job for the dough. He won't fail there as no one will think he can keep them up
Re: Harry RedknappSomeones got a short memory on signing players on inflated salaries "Portsmouth"
Re: Harry RedknappThe man has some neck, it is absolutely amazing he can make that 18k stadium remark given what happened at Portsmouth when he was the manager there. It's almost as if he has no long term memory at all.
Re: Harry RedknappHis comments in the interview I heard today were tantamount to " don't blame me, some idiot signed this lot on too much money and there's no money left. Blame whoever bought them and the poor players."
It really was an "I am not taking the rap for this lot" interview.
Re: Harry Redknappmmm
isn't that what he did here, pompey and southampton, only at spurs where he wasn't in control of transfer policy were they as healthy after he left as before he got there, time to banish the rubbish from the club, if they are disrupting others, staying ups and getting a team ethic is more important than suffering fools,
Re: Harry RedknappThe big talking point is a player like Bosingwa being on £65k a week - and he's not the highest paid - how is it possible for a team with 18k ground capacity to think it can support this sort of crazy spending!
But you have to ask what is the point of Redknapp stressing QPR's lunacy - he's covering his back and disassociating himself from the previous regime which would just about destroy any team spirit and drive a bigger wedge between the players!
Re: Harry Redknapp
They have. It's called The Life Of Pi(ss taking bastards)
Re: Harry RedknappI'd say he's in process of protecting his press reputation, nothing to do with him etc

Re: Harry RedknappSame old
If they go down he can say it wasn't his fault as he soon realised the club was an irretrievable mess. If they stay up he can say 'look how good I am to turn that mess around'. The media will swallow it either way cos they are muppets when it comes to that man.
Re: Harry RedknappThe irony is incredible. And the ignorance. He blames the players for earning too much and the agents for gold digging. Now where has that happened before....??
He only got the job because of the mess they were in. He was appointed to deal with the mess, not complain to the press about it. He's actually critising TF who presumambly signed the cheques for most of these players. So he's slagging the bloke who is paying him far too much with a possible £1m bonus if they stay up. Not sure whether to laugh or cry.
Re: Harry RedknappBubbles has nailed it, he's getting his excuses in early and making it clear he didn't sign xyz on film star money .
He's also telling every agent in the world he's open for business but at new rates .....a sort of Davecam "we're all in this together" sort of speech . Either way he won't lose - he will have a staying up bonus in his contract , and a promotion bonus if he can't do it this time , and if that fails he will be half way through his contract , get sacked and get the remaining 18 months paid out in full . He will get his wedge , win, lose or draw .
Re: Harry Redknapp
Isn't Zamora on 120K ?? And lets not forget...they ain't selling out that 18k either
Re: Harry RedknappHe is turning into a caricature of himself. Classless twat. Bet his lower paid players love being told how much Boswinga earns on national TV.
Of course, all done to protect himself as always and give the media the sound bites they crave. To me it was also a huge criticism of the club and how its finances are run, albeit maybe accidentally, as well as a dig at what he had inherited. Never had much against QPR but its all going to go horribly wrong there, f'sure
