Course you can. How about Lamine Kone and Steven Defour?

Sounds like a crap nine hole golf course in a redneck beach town like Myrtle Beach.

The kind of place where top shelf is Malibu rum and women that work the beer cart wear shirts that say "Guaranteed Hole In One."

Poor choice? I think it’s a great choice.

Weird but fun fact: nine is the most league goals in a season Andy has scored for WHU and the most consecutive games he has played for us without getting an injury

cant see him getting 9 this season !

would have him on the bench for sunday with ayew and sakho as two energetic forwards who have a goal threat.

AC has been poor at best this season and does not deserve to start. he looks slower than normal and less effective in the air. not the player he was. his bookings total is indicative of a player on the decline.

hopefully he will score the winner now on sunday !

a major rethink of our strikers is needed at the end of the season

carroll sell 15m ?
sakho sell 10m?

leaves us with Hernandez ayew as the only strikers in the first team squad. maybe Martinez will be good enough but we are clearly going to be short up top and 2 new players will be needed

Whoever we eventually sell up front, what's crucial now is to source a quality replacement to step in straight away so it doesn't leave us short or panick buying another load of misfits in a desperate attempt to replace them.

The way I see it is we currently have a healthy quality selection of Strikers to call upon these days regardless of who available or not available at the time and I don't want to see that weakened much as we evolve it. Decent Strikers are very hard to come by these days and shouldnt take it for granted we can replace them at the drop of a hat. We need to be bang on it once they do go. It's taken us 7 long years to get to this point and don't want to see us go backwards with wrong additions..

Hernandez
Ayew
Carroll
Sakho
Antonio
Martinez if he progresses as I hope he might

Just make sure quality replacements are lined up once they go is all I ask and not just make-do's. All bar Martinez are worth around £10m+.

if you want quality you have to pay and that is the problem. there are players at a reasonable price ben yedder went for 10m last summer and scoring loads. we apparently looked at him but didn't follow through.

need to shift injury prone and troublesome players carroll and sakho fit the bill. shame about sakho as he is our best striker on the books.

we will also need a CB to replace Collins and fonte. I would sell ogbonna 10m as he is unreliable.

a DM carvalho is also needed

a new RB as zab in last year ?

so a busy summer could be ahead but with only the 3 above going for 25m we will need to spend a bit on younger players for the squad.

do GSB want to do this ?

Well they have in the past.

Carroll for £18m plus 80k big wages at the time was a lot of money especially for a Club our size at the time.
Ayew for £20m plus big wages
Hernandez for £16m plus biggest wages at the Club on £120k wages

And although not a conventional Striker, Arnautovic as a Forward for £25m plus big wages is also not to be sniffed at.

So at various times during the past 5 seasons they have made sure to spend enough on quality Forwards.

So we need a CBs to replace Collins and Fonte, but you also want to sell Ogbonna meaning we’d need three centre backs?

Is Chris Smalling available?

Lamine Kone is out injured (until Feb in a few reports) - would be surprised if we went for him given that

On Carroll - be interesting if Moyes has different instructions for him starting on Sunday. In particular less dropping into midfield and more getting angled balls to him so that he can have his front to goal more (or at least less of his back to goal)
