If he stays its surely got to be on a play-for-pay basis.
I still rate him, but his injury record just makes any other kind d of deal untenable.

Pretty much never - because our approach play is so much slower and error-prone with him as the fulcrum, we probably wouldn't be getting in good positions in the first place.

Getting him out of the squad at the end of this year will be a huge leap forward for the club

“Give Carroll a new contract “ should never be uttered outside of the asylum , get rid and lets bolster our squad with an injury free striker an upgrade on Perez as he is not good enough we need smeone to take some of the burden from Arnie.

Do any modern day footballers agree to these types of contract ever?

No, but it's hard to see anyone (with the possible exception of ourselves though by now even we shouldn't be stupid enough) offering anything else

No way he’d sign a pay if you play contract. I suspect he’d be happier to drop down a league and bother their medical staff for a salary than bust his behind trying to get and maintain form & fitness.

Genuinely none. I have pretty much erased him from memory as though he has already left the club to be brutally honest.

I really rate him as a player and still think he has the ability to be one of the best impact subs in the whole league if used in the right way. But we can't continue to dream about an 'injury free Carroll' or continue to pay him while he has one injury set back after another.

Pretty much never.

The sooner we can plan for a season without having the waste of space that is Carroll filling a position in the squad the better.

The best we should hope for is that he can stay fit for a few games this season and score some goals coming off the bench.

In 6 and a bit years he’s managed 128 games and 33 goals in all competitions. Costing approximately £15m in transfer fees, £22.75m in wages and probably a couple of million in medical bills! So roughly £1.2m a goal and counting.

In all competitions and including sub appearances. I was a little surprised as well, but he did manage 24 apps when on loan and also a further 32 in the 15/16 season. He has however only made more than 18 premier league appaerances in a single season since we signed him on a perminant basis, with many of those being as a sub.

Personally consider it to be the biggest single waste of money the club has ever embarked on.

(Thanks, though)
