This is what I don't understand, his injuries always seem to come out of nothing and then the next thing we hear is he will be out for 3 months + and needs crutches etc. He could get a splinter on his little finger and end up needing his leg amputatedBMLGirl wrote:Saw AC tonight coming out of Majestic Wines in Loughton with his missus. He's had an operation.jastons wrote:This is what I don't understand, his injuries always seem to come out of nothing and then the next thing we hear is he will be out for 3 months + and needs crutches etc. He could get a splinter on his little finger and end up needing his leg amputated
""Andy played and scored in Sunday’s match [vs FC Winterthur] but is still reporting some discomfort in his ankle and further scans have revealed that he requires some minor surgery to provide more strength and stability to the area," said Collinge."

Re: Andy Carroll
I reckon you have more chance of seeing him in majestic wines than on the pitch this season !

Re: Andy Carroll
Has AC had the operation yet? I know it goes against the grain on here but I am a fan and think he could play a big part in the managers plans if fit. I guess it all depends on where his head is these days (probably down the pub )

Re: Andy Carroll
I don't see it as a "shame" per se mate...more his overall lifestyle isn't conducive to staying healthy....Ozza wrote:Such a shame really
He is "injury prone" if there is such a thing in reality. However, how many photos of him have you seen where he has been rehabbing and it out on the lash ?
The two that stick in my mind are the Christmas party wasn't it, in his white suit, without his leg brace being led out of a pub in Dublin maybe, covered in either Guinness, Jagermeister or a combination of both. And the one where he and Darren Randolph were out at about 5:00 a.m. in some pub in the city.
Nah, mate, I don't begrudge these blokes a drink or two in their off time, but their life span as an athlete is so short, and the possibilities of earning large amounts of wedge there, why not wait until you're retired and then do what the hell you want.
The Europeans have the right idea, they dominated Europe football with their lifestyle choices...I remember one more than one occasion of Italians coming over here and being amazed at the "lager mentality" of the British counterparts. It has changed with the Arsene Wenger style of coaching..wonder why he has very few British players in his squads ?????
No sympathy from me.

Re: Andy Carroll
The whole thing is a shame, attitude to work, body not up to the job, training at Rush Green, lifestyle.....potentially could have been a top international striker.
It's a bloody shame which ever side of the coin you look at

Re: Andy Carroll
The problem is he will never be fit for long enough to really make a difference. He has averaged 18 games a season since he started playing for us which includes substitutes.Upton Carp wrote:Has AC had the operation yet? We just need to get rid ASAP.
Having Andy Carroll at the club has hindered our progress in my opinion. He is supposed to be our talisman striker who has taken a large chunk of the wage bill. And in my opinion it’s what has stopped us signing a decent striker over the years.

Re: Andy Carroll
How many times recently have you thought, if only Andy Carroll was in that position?
So will we be able to retain him on a much lower salary and decent match bonus? I can't see him getting a better offer.
The better clubs wont want him and the smaller clubs wont want to risk a repeat of what we've experienced.
