Re: Andy Carroll
4 goals since April 17
8 bookings and 1 sending off
They'll give him another year on reduce wages in case he comes good.

May I suggest some enhanced equine-related similes?
Mods, please post forum guidelines stating that every time Carroll's name is mentioned we are all now required to include comparisons or metaphors along the lines of
1. Back end of a pantomime horse.
2. Donkey
3. Carthorse
4. Knacker's yard
5. Others . . . TBD but specifically only including the word 'unplayable' as a stand-alone descriptor and never when it is immediately followed by 'on his day.'

Re: Andy Carroll
some of us get/got coated off for suggesting he was finished a month or more back....even further I reckon...
hasn't had a preseason since he has been here I think one of the lads mentioned.
and I posted his minutes on the pitch with us which equaled I think a sum total of 14 games a season average
he played more one or two seasons which means he played about 9 games a season or less for the past few....
bet Sully has a shotgun by his chair in case Pellers suggests an extension - because he's the ONLY one who sees anything in the big lad......
can't for the life of me understand it - it's like playing with 10 men and in 2 games hauled off at h-t which uses a precious sub....

Re: Andy Carroll
I was thinking the exact same thing recently. The legs have finally seized up on him after all these years of punishment. He used to be quite quick for a big fella once he got motoring but now he runs slower than Noble doing the moon walk. Everything looks like a real effort for him and it is sad to see on a purely footballing reason as he weren't half bad when he could fly around without too much of an issue.Cockneyboy311 wrote:That first half the other night was like watching a once thoroughbred race horse being dragged out of retirement for one last run round the track. It was just sad watching him struggle. How much of that was simply a lack of giving a **** rather than injuries taking their toll I don’t know but sad all the same.
I always remember vividly when Allardyce once came out saying that Carroll needs to learn to reign it in a bit in training or he'll regret it in the long run once the injuries finally catch up with him. Well, that time has suddenly come for the lad, because he looks ready for the knackers yard. One of footballs, what ifs, had he only listened more and yes, been more professional. But that's for him to come to terms with now he's on the down slope. Unless he makes some kind of Lazarus like recovery which seems extremely unlikely at this point.

it was going that last 90 minute game.......

Not sure that equals an injury.

Re: Andy Carroll
Don't laugh! I thought they were keeping him fit to sell him, and unbelievably they will still expect near enough what we paid for him LOL! wish I could get £90K a week for what he has delivered this season.DasNutNock wrote:Sully prepping a 4 year contract extension as we speak.
