Re: Andy Carroll
“I'm not sure we can get him fit for 90 minutes, but if I can get him fit to play 20-30 minutes in games between now and the end of the season, I think it'll be really good,” Moyes said.
What does that even mean? He’s only going to be fit enough for twenty minutes each game, no matter how many he plays?

Re: Andy Carroll
It's ok everyone, no need to worry, andy carroll is not really going to be fit before the end of the season.
Which would be great news if it wasn't for the fact that every time he comes back it is always later than expected, he usually gets a minor injury within 2 matches and it takes him 6 matches to get up to speed, he scores a couple then is out for another 3-6 months. I for one won't be holding my breath. Talk about clutching at straws.

He's got a few cards, though, surely? IIRC he still has a year on his existing deal, with some clause concerning a two year extension.
I can't see him being easily sold, so, if his going at the end of this season is possible, they'd probably have to buy him out of it.
On player's contracts, I can't think of a more ridiculous one, under their tenure, to be honest. 6 years, with a 2 year extension !!

if you buy a car with a dodgey engine that can't be fixed, you normally send to the junk yard, fools keep waiting for when it decides to run the odd day whilst still paying the tax and insurance..

Re: Andy Carroll
Every time I see this thread has a new post I think I’m going to see news of (yet) another injury.
For the sake of him having one season left on his contract, I’m not really bothered if he stays or goes, but he’s been a complete waste of time and money for the handful of games that he’s been ‘unplayable’.
If we decide to sell him, the only problem I can see is that being on high wages, injury prone and not exactly having age on his side, the only sort of club that would take a chance on that sort of signing, would be us

It means he'll never be "fit" to play 90mins as a professional footballer ever again.HammerMan2004 wrote:“I'm not sure we can get him fit for 90 minutes, but if I can get him fit to play 20-30 minutes in games between now and the end of the season, I think it'll be really good,” Moyes said.
